'Leave a message after the beep',
A set of words I really hate.
Are you trying to ignore me,
Or is this just my fate?
You can't keep a promise,
You can't be trusted,
All my time spent just for you,
All lost, gone and wasted.
Next time I hear those 6 words,
I'm just gonna put down the phone,
'Cause instead of trying to get in touch,
I'd rather just be alone.
I'll make you hear those same 6 words,
The next time you try to call me.
Then my inbox will be full with your messages,
Trying to contact me desperately.
Missed calls, messages & notes slipped into my locker,
A relationship you're trying to keep.
When you remember me, remind yourself of the same 6 words,
'Leave a message after the beep'.
Don't you just hate it when you send someone a call or a message but they don't reply, so you try to give them the silent treatment but it completely backfires?
