Joey (Couple days before.)
Joey: How many people are coming that you have to order all this food!?
Connor: Um. About 20.
Joey: Twenty!?
My eyes widened.
Connor: Maybe more... I said they could bring friends.
Joey: I said I only wanted a few people.
Carter rubbed his hand up and down my arm.
Carter: It'll be fun. Don't worry.
Joey: There's going to be over 20 people at my house in a week! How can I not worry!?
I swear I almost fainted.
Carter: It's only for one day.
Joey: If there is people under 21 here I swear Connor. Your the one dealing with it.
Connor: Don't worry, there won't.
I looked at the time.
Joey: We should probably go. Tomorrow is Carter's first day at work.
I smiled at Carter and grabbed onto his hand.
Connor: If you insist.
Connor escorted us out the door.
Carter: Why are we leaving so early?
I shrugged.
Joey: I need to feed Wolf.
Carter squinted his eyes at me. We got inside the car.
Daniel
Eliot gently squeezed my hand. I looked up from my phone and at him.
Daniel: Mmhh?
Eliot: Is that Joey and Carter?
I looked in front of me. I stopped in place as I saw the two boys kiss.
Daniel: I-I think so.
They both pulled away, Carter smiling and Joey blushing.
Carter: Thank Y-
Daniel: Joey?
Both boys turned to look at me.
Joey: Daniel?
Joey stared into my eyes as if I weren't there. As if he I was a ghost. His facial expressions blank and hard to read. He opened his mouth and then closed it. I slowly approached him. He has grown a beard and mustache, puberty had hit him like a bus if you were to ask me.
Daniel: H-How have you been?
Joey studied my face. Confused.
Joey: Good. You?
He gulped.
Daniel: There are so many things I want to ask.
Carter locked his hand with Joeys. I looked at him.
Daniel: I'm dating someone else Carter.
He nodded but didn't budge.
Joey: I have to go Daniel. We're running late.
He looked at Carter and smiled. They started to turn but I stopped them.
Daniel: Can we talk? Later?
Joey: Well. I have a busy schedule.
I looked at him questioningly. He bit his lip and looked at Carter.
Joey: There's going to be a party at my house. Tomorrow. Here.
He took his phone out.
Joey: Just text me if you're going.
He showed me it. I took a picture of it. He looked up at me. I nodded. He turned away.
Daniel: Where are you going?
Carter: Why are you so nosey?
Joey: It's ok Carter. He had a meeting. I'm going to drive him there. Now we have to go.
They walked away before I could say anything else.
Eliot: I think you made things awkward.
Daniel: H-He looks so different.
Eliot: What do you except? 6 years out of high school. He has his own job. He's probably already married.
Daniel: there was no ring.
Eliot: What?
Daniel: I checked, both of them weren't wearing a ring. They aren't married. Surprising. After 7 and a half years. They're not married.
Eliot: We've been dating for 6 and we still aren't married.
I only shrughed.
Joey
Carter: That was awkward.
Joey: I agree.
I couldn't get The hopeful green eyes out of my head.
Joey: He looks... Healthier.
Carter: Maybe he stopped drinking and smoking?
Joey: Maybe.
I parked the car in the parking lot. Carter unbuckled his seat belt.
Carter: I'll see you at the house.
I pulled him close to me and pecked his lips.
Joey: See you.
He smiled and kissed me again.
Carter: Bye.
I waited till he walked into the school then I drove.
