Chapter 4

-Karma-
I watched her as she picked some white colored roses in a botique.She counted them and asked the woman at the cash register to wrap them up.

"Thank you..."the bluenette muttered quietly

We got out of the shop and she suddenly stopped.

"Hey,Karma?"She turned around forcing a smile

"Yeah?"

"Don't freak out once your in her ward,okay?"she said sadly

I nodded my head and we continued our walk to the hospital

"We're here...."She said as she slowly opened the door to ward '54'.

I gulped as we entered.What I saw was something I wasn't expecting.Nagisa's mother,Hiromi Shiota,is laying on the bed,looking like a dead person.Her face was dull and her skin was pale.However,she was still alive despite looking like the opposite.She looks like she's in her early 30s

"Nagisa?Is that you?"The dark blue haired woman said as she slowly sat up from her bed

"Yep!I bought you some flowers too!"Nagisa said happily

Why is she so happy despite her mother's condition?

"Oh,Thank you dear."Her mother gave a smile

"You welcome,By the way mom,I brought a guest!His name is Akabane Karma!He's my first friend!"Nagisa introduced me to her mother happily

"Hi,Mrs Shiota,It's nice to meet you."I bowed politely

"Nice to meet you too,Akabane san.Thank you very much for being friends with Nagisa."

I felt my cheeks heat up a bit.I didn't think anyone would thank me for being friends with their child.

"Mother,Karma is a great person!He's very understanding and is also very cool!"Nagisa said with her eyes shining

She thinks I'm a great person and that I'm cool?Thats sweet..

"That's nice!You have a good friend,Nagisa dear~"Her mom chuckled

"Hey,Nagisa?"Karma said

I hummed in response,"It was nice meeting your mother"

He gave me a smile.A genuine one.I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Y-yeah...."I muttered under my breath as I looked at the opposite direction of him

"By the way,Nagisa.Do you really meant it?"He suddenly asked out of the blue

"Mean what?"I turned my head back to look at him

My azure eyes met with mercury-gold ones,"Did you really mean it when you said I was a great person?"

"Yeah,I did.You are a wonderful person Karma,why did you ask?"I said looking confused

"Do you know who I really am?I'm known as the school's number one delinquent.Because I beat up people,I was suprised when you asked who I was when I saved you yesterday,everyone in school hates me and is afraid of me,but you weren't."He said with sad eyes

"Karma...I'm not afraid of you because I know you had that title for a reason.You,don't beat up innocent people,you help them by beating up their bullies,right?Even if you are a delinquent,that still won't stop me from being friends with you,Karma."I gave him a slight smile

His eyes widened.It was almost as if he never had someone who still decided to continue being friends with him even after knowing he was a delinquent.

All of a sudden,I was pulled into a hug.Karma hugged me tightly,embracing me.I was shocked by his actions

He whispered something into my ear,"Thank you...,Nagisa,I'll always treasure our times,together.."
