dear Arix,
i wrote a few more poems today and i showed mum. she read them and got a glint in her eye. she lead me to her computer and showed me a website. she said she found it through her friend. it was a contest for poetry. she explained there are different age catagories and that there was one for mine. she kissed the top of my head and left me alone. i sat down at the computer and slowly typed out my favourite poem of mine in one of the boxes. i added my name and age in another box and hovered the mouse over the 'submit' button. i took a deep breath, clicked the button and blew the air out through pressed lips. i gripped the desk, shoved with all my might and the swivel chair shot back to the far wall, smacking into it. i don't know why i did it, i just did. i sat there feeling dazed, and took deep breaths.
i had done it. i had submitted my poem into a contest, where people were going to read it and judge it. if i won first place - no, i could never win first place. i'm not that good. i guess i can only hope.
