{Shawn's point of view}

I turn over to my arm around Charlotte.

She wasn't there.
I sat up and looked around.

I very quickly put on my jeans and sweater as I hurry downstairs.

I walk into the kitchen to find Mom, Dad, Aaliyah and Charlotte, all sitting around the table eating pancakes and talking.
"Hey sleepy head", Charlotte says to me from across the room.
"What's the time?" I ask, hazily.
"Nearly 12!" Aaliyah says.
"So Shawn are we still on for today?"
"Yep, I'll let you finish your food and I'll have a protein bar and we can get going."

"Ok so where are we going first?" Charlotte asks, as we both sat in my jeep.
"I really want to take you to this lake I used to go to a lot. It was always a place I could go to chill and play the music I have written, so that no one would hear."
"That sounds amazing".
"Have you got gloves? A scarf?"
"Yes Shawn! Don't worry about me".
"I can't help myself".

After a 20 minute trip of listening to Plain White T's and John Mayer, I pulled up to the small car park, right by the lake.

We both get out the car and I hurry to the back of the car and I get my guitar case out, I was going to surprise her.

"Shawn, your guitar?"
"Yep, be patient, lets get to my favourite spot."

I put my arm around Charlotte and my other hand held my guitar case.
We walked around the bank of the lake until we reached the spot.

"This is it."
"It's beautiful! You can see the lake for miles! And it's so peaceful."
"This was where wrote A little Too Much, Life of the Party and loads of other songs from the first album. And .... I wanted to sing something I was working on."
"I can't wait to hear it."
We sat down on the floor and I got my guitar out the case.
"Ready?"
"Go for it Shawn." She smiles.

I take a deep breath and start strumming my old Taylor guitar.

I looked up straight away, and I saw Charlotte with a tear falling down her face.
"What did you think?" I ask, moving closer to her, wiping away her tears.
"Fucking stupid hormones."
"So you liked it?"
"I loved it so much Shawn."
"I'm always going to love you Charlotte."
"You too Shawn"

We sat back and watched the fall sun set over the crisp lake.

"We should be getting back." I say looking at my watch.
"You're gonna have to help me up."
"Of course sweetheart." I said, getting up and then pulling Charlotte up.

I open the front door and to say we're exhausted is an understatement.
"WE'RE BACK" I shout.
"Shawn, it's quite late. Have you eaten? There's leftovers in the oven."
"Thankyou Mom."

Charlotte and I sit on the breakfast bar eating lasagne.
"I forgot how much fresh air makes you tired", Charlotte said, yawning. "I might go up to bed, I don't feel too good either. I'll be better in the morning."
"Are you sure you're okay?"
"I'll be fine Shawn, I love you, Goodnight."

We hugged and she walking up the stairs slowly. I joined my family in the other room and we were just watching X Factor.

As it got later, Mom, Dad and Aaliyah all went up to bed.
I fell asleep on the couch, with some random programme still playing in the background.

I woke up suddenly and checked the time and it was half past 3.
I slowly walk up the stairs, still half asleep.

But then a sound that made my heart drop filled the air.

"SHAWN. SHAWN." Charlotte shouted, from my room.

I instantly became more alert and I ran to my room with my heart beating through my chest.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Baby what's wrong?"
"Sh-Shawn my water's broke"
