September 23rd International Bisexuality Day.

Today gives a platform to the bisexual community,

and to highlight the difficulties they face,

from social, economic and cultural prejudices,

and also violence, what a disgrace,

so today is a time to accept the bisexual community,

and instead of rejection, embrace.

This day was started by Wendy Curry of Maine, Michael Page of Florida and Gigi Raven Wilbur of Texas in 1999, three bisexual activists. This month was chosen because Freddie Mercury was born in September and the 23rd is Gigi's birthday. This day gives people time to celebrate the bisexual community and help rid the world of the prejudices it holds against them.
