Jim Reeves, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline,

Willie Nelson, Gene Autry and Johnny Cash,

Hank Williams and Kenny Rogers all sing divine.


Jimmie Rodgers became known as the " Father of Country Music,"  he is credited with having the first million selling single, Blue Yodel. Country music originated from folk tradition in England and slave ships from Africa, it grew up in isolated mountains of Appalachia USA in the 1920's. The term Country Music first started being used in the 1940's, before that it was called hillbilly music.
