Chapter 36: Blood is thicker than Water

~Mercy POV~

I enter the small room where Angel was held, she sat quietly on the couch holding a small cup of coffee Detective Banner must have given her some coffee to make her feel more comfortable I thought

"Hi Angel I'm Dr. Mercy Johnson its nice to meet you." I said as I sat down "Hello." she said in a soft voice,

"I really like your shoes by the way." I pointed at her black high heeled ankle boots, she smiled

"Thank you." she replied

"I'm a sucker for high heels, I honestly love them." I admitted , Angel let out a laugh

"Yea I like heels too." she admitted

"So how long have you been getting threats?" I asked

"I- uh started getting them about a few days ago and when I heard about the killings I was so scared so I came here." She explained, she started shivering, I took her hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze

"Hey, Hey its ok your safe now. I promise you I won't let anything happen to you." I reassured her , she looked at me with a scared expression "Oh my god! My son he- he- he's at school, I couldn't let him miss out on school so I-I took him and I drove him to school and I made my way here. Oh god what if he takes him." tears started rolling down her eyes,

"Shh its ok, listen I will send someone from my team to go and pick him up from school, ok?" I said ,she let out a sob and nodded.

"You must think so low of me." she stated

"No I don't, listen Angel just because your a prostitute doesn't mean your not human. I can't judge you solely based on your work , when I look at you, you know what I see? I see a mother who cares more about her son then herself." I stated , she cracked a small smile

"That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." I said nothing instead I placed my hands on her shoulders and gave it a tight squeeze as if I had known her for years and strangely enough it felt like I have.

~Reid's POV~

I starred out of the car window

"Ok Reid spill it."Morgan abruptly said , I gave him a confused look

"Morgan what are you talking about?" I asked, Morgan shot me a smirk

"You slept with Mercy last night." Morgan stated , I sat there with my mouth wide open, I took a deep breath

"Morgan your out of your mind." I stated though I knew what he said was true

"Dude you were lighting up like a Christmas tree today." He noted

"Just because I woke up with a good mood today doesn't mean I slept with Mercy." I argued, Morgan raised his eyebrow

"Reid you know I'm a profiler too I can when your lying. Also side note Reid your a terrible lair." Morgan persisted , I let out a sigh

"So what if I slept with her why do you care?" I said angrily,

"Alright pretty boy have it your way." He stated

"Mercy and Reid sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G first comes loves then comes S-E-X then comes a baby-" I gave him a stern and angry look

"Come on Reid I'm just playing with you I am actually proud and a little bit worried that your getting laid more than I am." He joked I tired to keep a serious face but I couldn't help but crack a smile.
