Chapter 27: The City That Never Sleeps

~Mercy POV~

I sat down in the car admiring the scenery as Reid drove, I really missed New York. Ever since I was little I always found New York memorizing and beautiful even though many people thought I was crazy I always found the concrete jungle filled with skyscrapers and city lights strangely appealing. When I was little my parents always took Hope and I to central park every Thursday after school, Hope would always find ways to create something with nature (most of the time it was a crown which she would then chase me and force me to wear). God I missed this place I thought

"You really missed this place don't you?" Reid asked, I looked at him with a shocked expression

"How did you know?" I asked

"By the way you're looking at the scenery, your awe struck by every building we pass." Reid pass, I giggled

"Aren't you supposed to be looking at road not at my face?" I say sassily. Reid smiled

"I am paying attention to the road." I laughed

"Oh sure you are." I say sarcastically, Reid laughed

"Oh look we just made it to the police station in one piece." Reid said jokingly, I laughed

"Alright genius you win this time." I admit. We made our way to the NYPD station

"Where's the team?" Reid asked "I don't know they should be here." I replied , just then I heard two familiar voices

"I'm telling you Flack the wife did it ,she found her husband cheating on her with his assistance , she grabs the gun and Boom he's dead." One voice explains... I would recognize that accent anywhere it was Danny

"Ok Dan, I'll tell the DA maybe we can close the case and I have to go back to the Fed's." Flack said "Yea I heard the Feds have jurisdiction on the ongoing serial killer investigation have you met them?" Danny asked

"Yea only 2 of them the team leader and one I swear to god Danny I'm not exaggerating she is an explosion of poof and glitter man. I swear I never seen anyone wearing so much neon and poofy things in all my life." Flack explained Yep he is defiantly talking about Garcia I thought

"You have anything else to say gentleman." I said, stepping in front of them interrupting their conversation.

"Mercy? How are you? What brings you back here in New York? Are you here on a vacation or something?" Flack asked

"No Flack unfortunately my trip is more business than pleasure – I flashed my FBI credentials- SSA Dr. Mercy Johnson at your service." I say. They both looked at me with a surprised expression

"Guess you were serious about joining the FBI." Danny said, I nodded

"Oh this is partner SSA Dr. Spencer Reid." I said. Reid gave an awkward smile

"I'm guessing you guys are more than partners." I then notice that Reid and I were still holding hands. I awkwardly let go of his hands

"I'm also guessing that is a yes." Danny said, I nodded

"How long have you guys been together?" Flack asked

"7 months listen can we not talk about my love life please. Have you guys seen our team? I asked

"Yea they are the crime lab, you guys can go with Danny." Flack explained, Reid and I nodded and followed Danny to the Crime Lab.
