A/N: Just wanna remind you guys that everything I write is based in the manga, not the anime. Figured that becomes important when I start using details from my translation of the manga rather than the loose adaption of the anime. Anyways, enjoy!

Emi

"I hate exams."

Apparently my declaration didn't mean much to my sister. As I groaned, burying my head in my arms, she simply patted the top of my head. I peeked out from the pile of my arms to study her quietly. I'd found out that when the twins had been entertaining me, Kyoya had taken her out of the house. Of course, Eri hadn't been the one to tell me about that. It'd been Kitaru when he asked if Eri was dating. I, of course, had politely told him to fuck off.

Still, while his nosiness wasn't appreciated, I felt no such annoyance at the thought of my own.

"Hey, Eri?" I questioned.

"Hm?"

She dropped her hand from my head. As she always seemed to recently, Eri went tense, a cautious edge to her smile.

"Where did you go with Kyoya?"

Her smile dropped away.

"I didn't..."

An elbow suddenly settled on my back. I hissed out an expletive and instantly sat up. This, of course, unbalanced the twin in question, causing their chin to smack into the back of my head. There was another round of swearing, accompanied by quiet laughter on Eri's end. Well, at least something good had come out of that mess.

"What the hell?" I demanded.

"You look like you'd make for a good armrest," Hikaru quipped.

I glowered at him.

"You look like a punching bag, but you don't see me acting on my impulses," I warned. "Don't touch me, asshat."

"Grouchy," Kaoru commented.

"I freaking hate exams," I repeated. "In case you didn't get it the first time. Go piss off Haruhi or something."

"She's busy checking the standings. Anywaysl, you know, usually people who hate exams don't do--"

"If you imply I'm an idiot, I really will punch you."

Hikaru laughed, that teasing smirk on his lips.

"If the shoe fits..."

I jumped to my feet, only Hikaru's tactical retreat around a classmate's desk keeping him from getting a fist to the gut, or foot to the nuts.Kaoru chuckled, an identical, mischievous smirk playing on his lips.

"You know, if you get a suspension you won't be able to go to the beach," he drawled.

I froze. Even Eri seemed surprised, her attention focusing on Kaoru.

"The beach?" I asked.

"At Nekozawa's," Hikaru added. "It's big, private, and ours--"

"--for the weekend. We'll spend the night at Nekozawa's. Haruhi agreed to go, so..."

"Tamaki set it up?" Eri guessed.

The twins nodded.

"So?" Hikaru prompted.

"What do you say?" Kaoru finished.

"... I guess you're off the hook this time."
