Take me to bed.
I know, I'll just keep working.
I know I should rest.
Though I love what I do
I'd rather be with you,
Falling asleep with my head
On your chest.
The night is gone,
Here comes the dawn.
Distract me from my problems,
Sing my favorite song.
I'm dizzy with sleep,
Stumbling on my feet.
But no cause for alarm,
You'll catch me in your arms.
Let me write down a few more words.
You know how my mind flutters
Like a bird.
Then off to sleep we can go.
No more work,
No more tv shows.
Just you and me between the sheets.
Eyes, arms, skin, and heartbeats.
Talking until we fall asleep.
Safe in your arms,
Dreams are sweet.
Shutting out the world for a while,
Until we wake and I see your smile.
So goodnight, or good morning if you prefer.
Sweet dreams, my love, my heart, my world.
