Nights pass on, days were becoming harder and harder to live through and all Zane wanted to do was hide from the truth, whatever that may be. Concentration issues are slowly reverting his crystal blue eyes back to the glowing bright sunset orange it once had been so long ago. Still, buying new contacts was the least of his problems. Unpleasant memories flooding back, crashing through his skull. He is growing more aware of his surroundings, the past, the present, and the future. He knew something of himself was amiss, yet to pinpoint proved to be impossible. His friends just assumed that he'd been busy with his usual jobs, working overtime to pay his own rent, except Rhys, who he had almost been afraid to contact after he had dazed away at the burger joint. So when he received texts later that one night, fear consumed him, but still he no longer had the heart to ignore. That doesn't exactly mean straight answers though. Below held the translated version of the texts:

Rhys: Ignoring won't solve your problems.

Rhys: You know I'll get the answers out anyways so I'm sure you'd rather speak through texts.

           Zane: I’m not hiding anything.

Rhys: Oh! So you are alive. Just so you know, I never said you were hiding anything.

           Zane: Yes.

Rhys: That was sarcasm you dumb-ass.

           Zane: Yes?

Rhys: Yes. Now what's happening lately? Tell me as I am obviously bored and looking for something to do that's not video games.

           Zane: Nothing.

           Rhys: Denial. Try again.

           Zane: Nothing.

           Rhys: Denial. Try again.

           Zane: And still nothing.

           Rhys: Denial. Try yet again.

           Zane: Yet again, nothing.

Rhys: I don't want to have to go over there to uncover your obvious lies.

Zane: Why do you even bother?

Rhys: Boredom leads to crazy things.

           Zane: Lol.

Rhys: Did you just text me 'Lol'?!

Zane: Boredom leads to crazy things.

           Rhys: Lmfarotfl.

           Zane: Lol.

Rhys: If you are so bored, if you would be kind enough to enlighten me on what the hell is up with you lately.

Zane: Work had taken a toll on my physical health I think.

Rhys: I don't know how many times I'll have to use this phrase, but try again.

Rhys: If you do not answer, I'll head over. Wasn't kidding about being bored.

           Zane: I believe you.

Rhys: I know it's difficult, but whatever it is, it's engulfing you, and as much as I understand you most of the time, this conversation may be critical someday.

Zane: If I were normal, I'd answer with the typical ''You'd hate me if you knew', but I'm not. And I really don't give a damn if you hate me or not.

Rhys: Are you really that alone?

Zane: No. You're here aren’t you? Pestering me like some mental hospital patient.

           Rhys: So you are.

Zane: It's life, I'm used to it.

Rhys: Yeah, I thought you'd reply with that.

           Zane: Sure you did.

Rhys: Sarcasm comes in handy doesn't it?

           Zane: Yeah.

Rhys: And you avoiding the main point of this conversation does not come in handy.

Zane: Don't expect me to be a drama queen and say things like 'you wouldn't understand' because I won't.

Rhys: I don't expect you to. I'd rather get a straight answer.

           Zane:  I'm strange.

           Rhys: Already knew that, next.

           Zane: Not like that.

Rhys: Yes, I saw your hair change color, but mine does that too so I wouldn't consider that strange would I?

           Zane: That's normal?

Rhys: Normal or not, it's not new.

Zane: I know, but control had never been an issue before.

Rhys: Maybe something latent is being of disturbance or did something happen recently? When did it start?

           Rhys: Zane?

Zane: The other night we were not to speak of, the graveyard.

Rhys: Have to go. Message you back tomorrow.

Some realization had dawned upon Rhys, who could not bring himself to reply to Zane's statement. Rhys knew, knew why Zane had been off lately. But what he just could not figure out was why. And he intended to find out.
