It Started With A Video

Chapter 15

"I can't believe that your going on this date with that hunk!" Kate squealed as she did my makeup and I smiled.

"Hopefully he treats you right like a real gentleman." Kenzie said as she finished up my hair.

"Kenz, are you almost done?" Grant asked as he played with Eliza on my bed.

"Stop complaining and watch your daughter, pull your weight as the dad and suck it up." Kenzie said annoyed with him.

"Fine, jeez!" Grant said and then Kenzie took a picture of my hair and showed it to me.

It was a braid that was then tied into a bun and I loved it. It was casual yet classy at the same time and I really did love it.

"It looks so good, thank you so much Kenz." I said to her and handed her the phone back.

"Okay, the last touch is the lipstick. You wanna go mysterious or bubbly?"
"Mysterious, you never know what your gonna get with Nicole." Kenzie said as she tapped away on her phone.
"That's true, a dark shade of red it is!" I said and she set down the bubbly pink and started to apply the lipstick.

"Done, now go on and put on your cute outfit that we picked out." Kate said and I smiled and walked over to my bed to see my outfit.

It was a cute navy blue shirt with little white stars on them and then a white long sleeve shirt with some accent jewelry pieces.

I walked to the bathroom and put everything on and I loved it. It was nice and cute and casual, I don't want to be so bold.

I walked out and the girls squealed and I smiled. I was happy that I had them to help me with this or I would be screwed.

"Here's your last piece." Kenzie said then handed me a leather bag and I smiled and hugged both of them.

"Thank you so much guys, I really hope this works out with Scott to be quite honest. He seems like such a sweet guy and I just want this to work." I said and they nodded.

"Where are you going for your date?" Grant asked me as he laid on my bed next to Eliza.

"I'm going to the carnival with him, he should be here any second." I said as I looked at my watch.

Then the doorbell rang and I raced the girls to the door but sadly Kate and Kenz got there first. But that gave me time to fix my outfit and make sure I looked good.

"Shelby, someone's here for you." Kate said and she wasn't happy Kate, she was sad and gloomy Kate and that's what scared me.

I walked over to the door and I saw who was there and it was Dylan. I have the best of luck don't I?

"Hi Nicole."

"Dylan, what are you doing here?" I asked, cursing Grant right now but I bet Kenzie is beating him up.

"I need to talk to you right now..."

"Well, I can't talk right now. I'm about to go out with my date." I said as I gestured behind him to see Scott standing there with a bouquet of flowers.

"Who's this?" Dylan gestured towards Scott as I stepped next to him.

"This is Scott, Scott this is Dylan... He's my ex - fiancé." I said.

"He's the stupid guy that cheated on you?" Scott asked and Dylan glared at him.

"Dylan, I think it's best if we go dude." Grant said holding Kenzie's hand and in the other holding Eliza.

"I'm out of here." Dylan said then started walking down the stairs.

"Have fun, don't worry about him." Kenzie said with a wink and followed Grant and I gave Kate a tight smile and she hugged me.

"Go have fun and just focus on Scott and not anyone else." Kate whispered in my ear and I nodded and I smiled at Scott.

"Thank you for the flowers Scott." I said as he handed me the flowers.

"They're not as beautiful as you but I thought I would give it a shot." Scott said and gave me a dazzling smile.

"Thank you so much." I said and handed them to Kate then took his hand and we left.

"So why was Dylan back at your house?" Scott asked as I took a spoonful of my ice cream onto my spoon.

"Well, he wanted to talk to me for some reason but I couldn't. But besides I had a handsome man standing right behind him." I said and he took my hand and kissed it.

"I've had such a fun time tonight, I haven't had this much fun for a long time." Scott said and I couldn't help but smile.

"I've had a fun time tonight too, thank you so much for bringing me to this carnival." I said and he smiled at me and we continued talking and I couldn't help but laugh and smile at his personality and how amazing Scott was.

"So umm... I have a brother and he's in the army while my sister ran away with an older man when she was 16..." Scott said and I frowned.

"I'm so sorry..." I said and he sighed and I hugged him.

"Yeah, she thought he actually loved her and she ran off with him and we don't know where she is. The last time I talked to her is when she needed some help with money..." Scott said and I kissed his cheek.

"I'm so so sorry..." I said and I knew how important his family is to him. Just hearing this is breaking my heart for him.

"It's not your fault, I'm just disappointed in her and I just wish I could've knocked some sense into her when I had the chance." Scott said and I nodded.

"I really just hope she's doing okay and I just hope she didn't make a major choice that she'll regret for the rest of her life." Scott continued and I nodded.

"What's her name?" I asked him.

"Her name is Alaska, I really miss her and I wish I could see her." Scott said and I smiled then kissed his cheek and hugged him.

"I bet she's missing you too." I mumbled and he smiled at me and kissed my cheek.
