Elena and I rode in a taxi to the house. The gate was shut.

"You can stop here, sir." I said

He stopped the car. Elena and I got out. The taxi driver handed us our bags.

"You live up there?" Taxi driver asked

      "No, not anymore." I said

"We did. Don't worry; we know what people think about this place. Nothing up there scares us." Elena said

The taxi driver nodded and drove off. Elena and I walked through the gate but I stopped along with Elena.

"You'll have to do better than that if we're tracking a Mutt." Elena said

Clay walked out from behind the pillar.

"Missed you too. Hello, Makayla." Clay said

"Shove that 'hello' straight up your ass, Clay." I said

"I forgot how straight forward you are. Some things just don't change."

I growled before stomping off into the house. Elena was right behind. I stopped and looked around. Nothing had changed about the place.

"Are you the welcoming committee? Or did Jeremy finally chain you up to the front gate where you belong?" Elena asked

"Welcome home." Clay said ignoring Elena's comment

"It's not home anymore, Clay." I responded

              "Nothing's changed." Elena said

               "Some things have." Clay siad

              "Like what?" I asked

"You let Nick buy all your clothes when you lived here. I thought you both hated shopping."

"You don't think I could pick this out myself?" Elena asked

"You tell me. I guess what I'm saying is, uh you look good."

"I clean up pretty well when I'm a human. Where's Jeremy?"

"He's not here. You two should eat something. You must be starving."

"We already ate. Not hungery." I said

"Where is he?" Elena asked again

           "He's running. Elena Look...

I'm not here to talk, or to catch up, or whatever else you had in mind. I'm here because a wolf needs to be tracked. And it was clear everyone else was going to keep pressuring me and Makayla until we came back."

                 "Everyone?"

"I just want this done so I can leave. The sooner Jeremy knows that I'm here, the faster I can start tracking the killer. I'm not here for us and Makayla's not here for Nick."

                 "Clearly."

"Don't, Clay. You really don't want to start with me riht now. I'm going after Jeremy." I said

There were two gunshots as I ran out of the house. I was getting ready to shift into my wolf when I was grabbed and rammed into the ground. I bared my teeth and growled.
