Chapter#17 - The Holidays

I woke to the sound of an owl banging on my window, I blink a couple of times, I pull back the covers of my bed and push my hair back.  I opened the window,  the little owl hopped into the room it had a letter in it's beak.  I picked up the small creature it dropped the letter, and chriped at me.  I smiled and then let it fly away.  I closed the window and then looked at the letter in my hand.  I put it down beside my bed, I would have to read it later today was Christmas and I didn't want to miss that.  

I walked out of my room, and to the a large christmas tree in the middle of the sitting room.  I smiled I saw M.M sitting on a seat near by, she looked up and saw me and then looked the other way.  My smile faded.  I walked and at the base of the tree, were she couldn't see me, she still wouldn't talk to me.  I started to look for presents that were for me, but I didn't seem to find any at all.  I sighed and started to walk back to my room.  I don't know why but I thought I might have a present.  

I sat on a chair looking out the window, it still snowed on.  It was just another day at Hogwarts, Most people had gone home for the holidays.  I looked to the letter that the owl brought this morning. I picked it up and flipped it over, and saw a wax seal with a crest on it.  It had a snake on it.  I slowly opened it and pulled it out.  Then there was a knock on the door, I dropped the letter I stood up and run to the door and answered it.   I slowly opened the door,  it was M.M 

"hey" I said 
"hey" she said, "can I come in?" 
"sure" I said stepping aside 
M.M walked into the room. 
"I'm sorry" she said 
I shook my head " it's okay" I said 
"don't say what you don't mean" she said 
I sat down on my bed and M.M sat next to me, 
"did you really do it?" she asked 
"do you really think I would be able to get a troll into the school" I said 
"the Gryffindor's got house points for it" she said 
"what?" I said 
"Harry and that other Ron went to find Herimone, and she was in the girls bathroom with the troll and then Harry and Ron saved her" M.M said 
I shook my head and rolled my eyes, 
"Those three can get away with anything" I said 
"Yep" M.M said 
"so did you want to get something eat?" I asked 
M.M stood and smiled "yea why not" 

M.M and I walked to the Great Hall, the hallways of Hogwarts were empty almost everyone had gone away for the Holidays.  We walked into the Great Hall there were some people sitting at the tables.  We walked over towards the Slytherin table.  M.M and I talked for hours and hours, she heard how I missed out on the spot on the Quidditch team.  After a while I looked up and saw Liam sitting alone at the Gryffindor table he was looking over towards me and M.M.  

"somebody's looking over here at you" M.M said to me with a smile 
"Ha-ha not funny" I said shaking my head
"do you like him?" she said 
"no he's a friend plus I'm 12" I said 
"so age doesn't matter" she said 
"you are a strange one" I said 
"now you see why your friends with me" she said, 
I laughed and smiled 
"come on ask him over" M.M said 
"but you hate Gryffindors" I said 
"yea but nobody's here" she said 
"okay" I said, I looked over to Liam and waved him over, he smiled and quickly got and came over. 

"hey" he said smiling at me, 
"this is Mary Moon" I said 
"hey, I'm Liam, Liam Panye" he said 
"good to meet you" M.M said 
Liam looked over towards me, "so you didn't go home for the Holidays?"
"I don't really have a home to go to" I said 
"oh then over the next break you should come home with me" Liam said 
"yea that would be nice" I said looking over to M.M, she just moved her eyebrows up and down I pushed her a little. 
"so your other friends went home for the holidays way not you?" M.M asked 
"Oh I like it here, I didn't to leave" Liam said 
"yea same" M.M said smiling at Liam.  

This was weird, strange I thought M.M liked girls? maybe she liked boys too?  I gosh I was so confused. 

"Dany? you okay?" Liam and M.M said at the same time. 
"umm......yea fine" I said " I think I better go lie down for a while" I stood and started to walk away, then I felt a hand on my shoulder I turned and saw M.M. 
"don't leave me here with him" she hissed at me. 
"oh come on" I said with a wink 
"Dany! he's a first year" she said 
"and so I'm, and beside what does age matter" I said walking out of the Great Hall without looking back.  


I walked into the Slytherin common room, and saw that snob boy sitting on one of the couches.  
"hey you" he said 
I kepted on walking I didn't want to talk to him. 
"hey stop!' he shouted 
I stopped and turned towards him.
"what do you want?" I said 
He got up and walked towards me, 
"this is for you" he said handing me a scroll. 
"what this for?" I said, 
"it's from my father" he said 
"and what do I care about your father" I said 
"just come see me once you finish reading it" he said putting it in my hand and walking off.  I looked down at the scroll it had the same seal on it as the letter I had gotten this morning.
