~ Calypso is an ancient goddess of the sea, according to Greek myth.

~ Keira Knightley's last film in the franchise as Elizabeth Swan.

~ In Italy, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was named "La maledizione della prima luna" (meaning "Curse of the First Moon"). Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest taking partially the original brand was named "Pirati dei Caraibi: la maledizione del forziere fantasma" (meaning "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the ghost Chest"). Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End was finally translated correctly "Pirati dei Caraibi: ai confini del mondo".

~ The Black Pearl itself, while docked in San Pedro Harbor, was used to film an ad for the movie and a contest called "Party on the Pearl". Using some of the movie's cast, the ad starred Martin Klebba, Spencer the monkey, David Blue and Jeremiah Hu.

~ Industrial Light & Magic created 750 VFX shots in the film, while Digital Domain created 300 VFX shots for the film.

~ When Jack says, "I've never actually met the man Bizzaro, but I love his pies," he was referring to a Bizzaro Pizza in Indialantic, Florida. His Sister lived not too far away and they went there for pizza. (At first, I thought that Jack was referring to some old Italian guy.)

~ About 36 minutes into the film,  Capt. Jack Sparrow says, while in the Locker, "We shall have a magnificent garden party, and you're not invited." In Alice in Wonderland (2010), Depp portrays the Mad Hatter, a character known for his garden parties.

~ Sao Feng threatens Will with a fid, a sharp tool used for winding ropes together.

~ Several times during the film, sugar cubes are seen being used when drinking tea. The plot assumes the currency of the East India Trading Co. which places the timescale pre-1858. Sugar cubes were invented in 1841 by Jakub Krystof Rad, and the depiction of their use in this film is therefore correct. (But, the Golden Age of Piracy took place during the late 1600s to the mid 1700s... If only they actually gave us the dates at which Jack's adventures happened, then we would know for sure!)

~ The scene which Elizabeth Swan is forced to remove and hand over all her weapons before entering Sao Feng's bathhouse mirrors a similar scene in "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome", which Max (Mel Gibson) is forced to remove and hand over all his weapons at the entrance of Bartertown.
