"I'm honestly just happy to be back in this big ass house, I couldn't give two shits about the people in this town." Kelly said flopping on her bed.

"Your rooms down the hall, I can show it to you." I said to Jared as he followed me while Kelly was rolling on her mattress like a six year old.

"So, when will my parents get here?" He asked me as we opened the door to his room.

"They told my mom a week, hopefully the others will show up by then." I said to him as I left him and went back to Kelly and I's room.

I shut the door and leaned on it. I crossed my arms. "Spill." I said to her as she was giving me her face that practically gave away she was holding something in.

"That boy is so fu*king hot that I can't even!" She yelled but covered her mouth. She was obviously talking about Jared.

I started laughing and there was a knock on our door.

I opened it and Jared was standing there.

"Hey, so since your mom is out with Janet I was wondering if, since all the other families and siblings went on a big trip, and that we have the house to ourselves, what if we all had a little fun together and attempted to make an edible meal." Jared said as Kelly looked like she was about to faint.

"Yeah, I just have to try to like, get adjusted, and I'm here you do too, so I'll- We'll see you down there." Kelly said awkwardly regretting her mistake in speech immediately.

"Alright, I'm gonna go and like set up my room." Jared said smiling.

Once he left Kelly and I started talking about school.

"It's been going on for about a week now, we've missed some of it, but were expected to go back tomorrow." She said to me as I nodded my head looking in the mirror and trying to clean the dirt from my face.

"Yeah, the last time we were in school, it was you freaking out about Cole and how hot he is and Bella's bitchiness." Kelly said with a laugh.

"I saw her. In the missed people thing on the plane." I confessed without realizing it.

"Really?" Kelly asked me surprised.

"Yeah." I said changing clothes.

"But I thought you hated her." Kelly said to me as she faced the wall so I was able to change.

"I thought you hated her though?" Kelly asked quizzically.

"I just feel guilty about her death, I'm kinda, the reason she had to be uh tackled off a boat." I said awkwardly to Kelly as she turned around.

Eventually, when the time came Kelly Jared and I went downstairs and started to get ingredients out to make a cake.

Jared and I were cracking eggs when we heard a cracking sound behind us. We both turned around to see Kelly standing next to a cracked egg on the ground. She must have thrown it against the ground.

"Kelly? What the hell?" I asked her confused.

"I just wanted to feel included." She said blandly.

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it." Jared said placing the eggs down and walking over to the door to open it.

"What the- guys, it's uh, it's for, it's for all of us." Jared called back to us weirdly.

Kelly and I gave each other confused looks, but went over to Jared who's body was blocking whoever was at the door.

When I moved to the side I was finally able to see that it was Amanda who was standing there, with some weird wooden box behind her that she must have dragged all the way here, she was out of breath, dirty, and her hair was all over the place.

"Amanda? How'd you get here?" I asked her as she looked at me a few seconds before answering.

"I can explain that later, you guys need to know something." She said as she walked back to the box and opened it.

Inside was the body of Justin, with one of his arms detached from his body and laying on his chest, which had a hole in it.

I took a step back as my vision started to blur be chase my eyes were watering.

"Oh my god...." Jared said. I was the first to burst into tears, Kelly the second.

"Justin!" I cried out as I ran over to the box and Kelly followed me.

"No no no no no no no this can't be happening." Kelly said looking to Amanda who had crossed her arms, yet her expression was still sad. The sounds of cars in the night could be heard in the distance.

"Denial is the, uh, first um first stage of the five stages of grief." Amanda said with immense guilt.

"What are you some kind of therapist?" I barked at her immediately regretting my decision.

"No, my dad is. He told me this when my aunt died a few years ago." Amanda told us. Jared put a comforting hand on Amanda's back as she started to cry as well.

Eventually, once we all had calmed down, Jared was the only one who wasn't really affected by a large scale, since he never became close to Justin at any time.

Just a little reminder that Sandy Jared Kelly and Amanda still don't know that Kylie exists, only Matt Derrick Becca and Henry do.

"So, when I saw the three of your pictures on the news about some great escape concept that I was like damn I wish that's what happened to me, my flight started boarding and I knew that I'd get here only a few hours after you" Amanda said as I was still wiping my eyes from crying.

"So what do we do?" Amanda asked us.

"The town is expecting all of us to go to school tomorrow." Kelly said to her.

"That's stupid." Amanda stated and we all agreed with her.

"They're giving all of the survivors the same classes, and they're gonna keep Jared back a grade just so we'll all be together." I told her, which made up for the idea of having to go to school more appealing.

"We're hoping that the others will come back soon, so we can get this over with and go back to normal life again." I said as Kelly gave me a weird look.

"What do you mean normal? Sandy ever since the first boiler exploded on the cruise we've never been the same and we never will, and ever since we've been people of interest to the biggest organization of terrorists on the planet." Kelly said to me. "And who knows what they're gonna do after this, because we know damn well they aren't gonna stop here." She finished saying as we all realized, this was gonna go on for a long, long time.
