I Hope it Never Happens

I hope it never happens to you
To feel the pressure on your hips
As you're saying no
I hope it never happens
That you feel his body and his sweat against your skin
To be saying no
Only to be ignored
I hope it never happens to you
To hear hear the excuses
The justifications.
"I just missed you so much
I couldn't control myself"
"You resisting turned me on even more"
"Well
You stopped saying no."
The excuses.
All. Of. The. Excuses.
I hope you never have to wonder
How many times that saying no
Will be understood.
I hope that you're with someone
who is okay with no
Who won't take advantage of you
Or your body.
I hope you never fall for someone
Who will take advantage of that fact
And use you
Like a piece of meat,
Then guilt you
Then say it's your fault.
I hope you never feel the confusion
And the distrust
While he's walking around
Like nothing happened
Because in his mind
He made love to you.
I hope you never have to feel the pain
That I have.

I pray to God that it never happens to you
But if it does just know this:
You have an army beside you
Picking you up when you fall down.
You are never alone
You are loved
You don't ever have to be alone.
You don't have to carry the weight of the world
On your shoulders.
I hope you know you are still worthy
No matter what someone else did
Or took from you.
You
are
priceless.
