Jasmine: "Meggy . . . C'mon, Meggy."

I cooed.

Jasmine: "It's all right,  Darling,  come on."

Meggy: "Gramma . . ."

The word come out of nowhere, but the insinuation . . . well it hit a little close to home.

Meggy: "Agh . . . Not again! I’m f-fine . . ."

She quickly affirmed.

I just smiled. I couldn’t do much else.

Jasmine: "You took a nasty little fall, Dear. I sure hope the gelato will clear that up."

At least, I really hoped something that simple would help. As if on cue, Jimmy returned with a tray filled with four bowls of gelato.

Jimmy: "Someone call?"

Jasmine: "Jimmy, Dearest, you're a hero!"

I exclaimed, my tone light and joking; I helped Meggy back up before assisting him with placing the bowls.

Jasmine: "Thank you, Darling."

I told him before taking her own. He smiled back at me and left us alone once more.

Meggy: "Uh yeah thanks."

She mumbled, trying to reassert herself.

Yistina: "She gets these weird 'memory spells' where she'll remember bits and pieces of what happened before she was found in the middle of the highway."

Meggy: "YISTY!"

Meggy shot her a glare.

Yistina: "What?! It's the truth! You were found as a toddler wandering the interstate highway looking for your mom and suffering from amnesia!"

Meggy: " . . . . . Gee thanks Yisty."

Yistina: “No problem!"

Tanisha shot her a glare.

Tanisha: "Shut up, Yisty."

    Well . . . wasn’t this unusual?

But, then again, isn't it fitting that I would be working on a movie for the type of girl I always did these movies for, anyway?

    For the lost girls . . .

I did my best to seem completely unfazed.

Jasmine: "Dears, you'll want to enjoy your gelato before it melts."

I took a spoonful of my own chocolate gelato, acting as if nothing had happened.

Meggy blinked and took a bite, appearing satisfied with the texture and taste. Tanisha did the same, and I knew if they liked ice cream they ought to like this. There were only a few small differences between the two.

Yistina dove in with a vengeance.

Yistina: "MMMMM!!!"

Meggy just chuckled at her friend. She ate some, albeit slower than her friend Tanisha. That's when she made an unexpected comment about the bracelet on my wrist.

Meggy: "Neat bracelet."

I smiled at her warmly.

Jasmine: "Thanks, Darling. I never take the thing off unless we're shooting."

I took another relaxing spoonful of the cool substance.

She squinted at it, focusing.

Meggy: "Hey, Em has a necklace like this one!"
