Promises

Chapter 37

(Matthew and Natalie above☝)

Natalie's POV:

"Cameron." I start to whimper.

He runs to me and places a big kiss on my forehead.

Tears fall from his eyes as he strokes my hair back.

I look up at him and cuff my hands around his face. "Cameron, you never gave up on me."

He looks into my eyes. "Never Natalie, you're my sister. I could never give up on you"

I remove my hands and see everyone outside.

He looks back at them then back at me. "Want them to come in?"

I look at him confused. "Why are they here? Aren't they disappointed in me? I mean, they keep on telling me that I tried taking my life, when I would never."

He looks at me, then sighs.. "Natalie, we'll talk about this later."

I shake my head as he walks over to the door.

He won't believe me. If he doesn't, then why would everyone else?

I look at everyone as they make there way in. Tears fill their eyes as confusion fill mine.

Nayeli runs in and runs towards me

She gives me a hug and I hug her back.

She starts to sob into my chest as I look back at everyone else.

Matthew stands in the corner of the room with tears rolling down his cheeks.

Nayeli let's go and cuffs her hand in mine,  she looks at me and smiles.

I smile back and she gives me a kiss on the cheek.

"I love you Natalie." She pauses and looks around." Everyone does, we can't let you leave us. We love you so much, and we're sorry if we never tell you enough."

Tears fill my eyes.

I scan the room looking for Axel, I need his hugs.

"Where's Axel?" I ask ignoring their statement.

"He and April went to go pick up Carter at the airport." Someone says.

I nod and Nayeli kisses my cheek one more time.

Everyone passes and gives me hugs and kisses, they tell me how much they love me and never want to see me in this position ever again.

Everyone walks out and leave me with the last person in the room, Matthew.

My heart starts raising making the machine start beeping a lot.

Beep beep beep beep beep beeep beeep beep beeep beeep beep.

"Natalie its okay." Matthew wipes his tears away.

My heart beat slows down.

I look straight at him. "Matthew, I-"

He cuts me off. "Natalie you made a promise."

I look at him, hurt.

"Matthew. I made a promise, and I kept it."

He looks at me with mad, hurt eyes.

"You clearly didn't." He sarcastically says.

I groan and roll my eyes. Tears fall and leaves the room silent.

He chuckles and shakes his head.

"What's so funny Matthew?" I snap and glare at him.

He shakes his head and finally looks at me. "I almost freaking lost you and you wake up, lying to me is the first thing you do."
