Chapter 18

Ben and Roman started fighting again. Their dad had to pull them apart.

"I will not share her," Roman yelled.

"Of course. You are her second chance mate. Obviously Ben rejected her," their dad said.

"I never rejected her," Ben said.

"You did, the moment you said I do to Nadia. Now Ben you are with Nadia. You still have a bond with Katherine, but you better forget about it. You are married. Roman and Katherine will be together now, they are second chance mates. You've lost your chance," their dad said.

Ben growled and stormed back into his room.

"I need time alone," Roman said as he left.

"Always causing trouble," their dad said, shaking his head at me.

I rolled my eyes and went back into my room. I saw Roman gathering his things.

"Roman I-

"Not now, Katherine. We will talk later," Roman said.

"I love you," I told him. He sighed and shook his head.

"Why would you sleep with him, Katherine? Do you still love him or something?", Roman asked.

"I thought I did, but then I met you. I'm over him and I want to be with you," I told him.

"Do you have anymore secrets to tell me?", he asked.

I knew there was still the thing with his mom, but she wouldn't be back for a few weeks. Roman and I would be married by then.

"No, nothing at all," I said.

"Good. I love you, Katherine and I want you to be my wife," Roman said.

"I want you to be my husband," I said. He kissed me and slipped the ring on my finger.

"I love you so much," he murmured against my lips. I kissed him harder and he pulled apart.

"What?", I asked.

"My father said you and Ben still have a bond. I want you to break it," he said.

"Okay," I said. I would do anything for him.

"Good, I'll see you in the morning. I have a couple of other things to take care of," he said. I nodded and he left out.

After about 10 minutes Ben came knocking on my door.

I opened the door and let him in.

"Katherine I love you and I know I've fucked up a lot, but I need you. My life is incomplete without you," he said.

"If that was so, you would have never married Nadia," I said.

"I already said I fucked up. It was stupid, your my mate and I love you," he said. I felt my heart melt.

"I can't. I'm with Roman now. I gave you a chance Ben and you fucked that up, it's time for me to be with Roman," I said.

I saw his jaw clench.

"Roman, is a fucking prude. You think he can fuck you better than I can? Do you think he loves you more than I do?", Benny asked angrily.

"He loves me more than you ever did," I said.

"If that's so, then why is he looking for another wife in the castle ballroom?", Ben asked.

"That's not true," I said. It couldn't be, he told me we would be together. I know he was thinking about looking for another wife at first, but then he proposed.

"It is. I can show you," Ben said. He lead the way into the ballroom and sure enough I saw Roman talking to other females, kissing them on their hands and shit.

I felt my anger rise up. I stormed in the ballroom and ripped Roman away from them.

"Katherine," Roman said shocked.

"You bastard!", I said as I slapped him. I heard the women gasp.

"What has gotten into you, you crazed woman!", Roman yelled.

"Your trying to pick another wife!", I yelled.

"No I am not! These are some of my father's business guests' wives! I am simply greeting them!", Roman yelled.

"Oh," I said.

"Yeah oh, I should spank your ass right here in front of all these people," Roman whispered harshly in my ear.

"I'm sorry," I said quietly.

"Go back to the room, I'll deal with you later," Roman said. I nodded and left out. That was so fucking embarrassing.

I saw Ben leaning against the wall, when I left out.

"You asshole!", I yelled at him.

"What?", he asked.

"You know what you did. You lied to me and made me look stupid!", I said.

"I just wanted him to see how crazy you are, I doubt he will stick around for long. Then you'll come back to me," he said.

"I ,Katherine Karter Jones, reject you Benjamin Andrew Steele," I said angrily.

He looked like he was in shock. His hand held his heart and he fell to take ground. I walked over him and went back into my room.

Roman's P.O.V.

After a few hours, the business party was over. I couldn't believe Katherine would embarrass me like that.

I opened up her door and went in. I saw her lying down on the floor, eerily still.

Katherine's P.O.V. (10 minutes ago)

I paced around the room waiting for Roman. It was twelve o' clock. He should have been home.

What if he took another girl back in his room or something?

He probably did, he didn't want me anymore. I had gained a couple pounds and I was acting completely crazy. He could find someone better than me. Someone much smarter and prettier. I felt a pang in my heart.

I would and could never be enough for him.

Tears rushed down my face.

The door opened and I hoped it was Roman. Instead it was Marisol.

"You don't look so happy,'' she said.

"Please go away," I said. She came closer and examined my hand.

"Beautiful ring. Who got it for you?", she asked.

"No one," I said.

"Someone had to get it for you, so stop lying!", she said.

"I found it," I said.

"Hand it over, I want it," she said. I shook my head.

She pulled me closer.

"You think I'm fucking stupid? I know it was Roman. I'm through with you, pick your poison," she said as she pulled out two bottles of pills.

"I'm through with you controlling my life!", I yelled.

I punched her, catching her off guard. I heard a sickening crack and blood rushed down her face.

She punched me harder, knocking me to the ground. I tried to get back up, but she kicked me.

"You've really fucked up, I gave you the option of death, but now I'm going to let you live. Expect your little friends here in the morning and don't think about leaving. The whole place is guarded I will know if you left," she said.

I cried as she left. I grabbed the bottle of pills and took one. I instantly felt my body shut down.
