When everyone looked at her they only saw what was on the outside. A loud, boisterous girl with a sailor mouth, but I saw more.

I saw a girl that was hurting on the inside. I saw a girl who craved love. I saw a girl who craved acceptance.

"Do you care about me?", she asked as tears ran down her face.

"Yes, I love you Katherine," I said, making her smile sadly.

"Truly? With all of your heart?", she asked.

"Yes, my love for you is unwavering. It will never go away," I said truthfully. She nodded her head and rested it on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her trying to provide her some comfort.

After all it was my job to be there for her. Nothing else mattered, except for her. She was my soulmate, my lifeline, my missing puzzle piece.

She was the only one that had the key to my heart and she didn't even know it.

Katherine was a human, she understood that we were werewolves, but she didn't know the rules and history behind werewolves. She didn't understand the things we did and why we did them.

"Sometimes I wish I could just float away to another place, with people like me," Katherine said.

"But what would I do without you?", I asked.

"You would move on. Find someone else to replace me," she said.

"Your irreplaceable, no one can take your place. I don't think you understand how much you mean to me Katherine. I would do anything to ensure your happiness and safety. There's nothing in the world that I wouldn't do for you, I love you so much," I said.

"You deserve better than me," Katherine said.

"Your everything I ever wanted," I said.

"But we can never be together,'' she said.

''We can, we can do whatever we want," I said.

"People would look at us funny. They would wander why someone like you is wasting your time on someone like me," Katherine said.

"I don't care what anyone thinks. The only person's opinion that matters to me is yours. Your all I care about Katherine and I wish you would tell me the names of the people who are messing with you," I said.

"I can't. I don't want anyone's blood on my hands. I can live through the teasing. I've survived much worse situations," Katherine said.

"You did and that's what makes you so strong today. You would be a perfect queen," I said.

"I'm not strong and I will never be queen," Katherine said.

"Never say never," I replied.

"Your parents hate me," she stated.

"So?"

"If you were to take me as your one and only, your queen they may not give you the crown to the throne," Katherine said.

"Well if they don't, I don't care. You are more important to me than some silly title," I said. Katherine shook her head.

"I know how much you want it and how hard you have been working for it. Don't ruin it all by getting with someone who isn't going anywhere in life," Katherine said.

She looked at me one more time with longing in her eyes before she left out my room.
