I didn't want to leave Logan on his own to wake up in a strange room and in pain so I pulled the duvet over him and pulled a spare blanket over myself as I sat in my desk chair with a book to read and my notebook close by. I wasn't going to sleep that night I needed to take care of the boy in my bed. As I sat planning my escape, I heard the front door open and heavy footsteps coming up the stairs.
"SCARLETT, GET FUCKING OUT HERE NOW" I stood, preparing myself for whatever my father had planned, as I went to the door I glanced across to the bed, only to find Logan sat with his worried eyes trained on me I gave him a slight smile, and heled my finger up to my mouth in a hush motion as I shook my head slightly at him
"SCARLETT GET HERE NOW!" my father was getting less patient, and I could hear him coming towards my door. But I got there first opening the door and stepping out, as he came across the landing. I made sure that the door was closed before moving away; I couldn't risk it swinging open, and revealing Logan in my bed

"Yes father?" I questioned with my head bowed as he came closer he grabbed me by the hair on the top of my head
"don't you fucking dare to keep me waiting, ever again" he pulled, and I hissed out in pain, "sorry, father," I said quickly so that he would let go of my hair,
"why the fuck does my house look like a shit hole, you better fucking start pulling your weight around here, or I'm going to have to start selling you again, I'm sure Freddy would pay, though he wouldn't pay much for the likes of you" he was still stood outside of my bedroom door, so I was sure that Logan could hear every word of what he said, but still I remained quiet, not daring to look him in the face. "You'd like that wouldn't you, you dirty bitch" with that he pulled me down the stairs to the living room with my arm in a vicelike grip that was sure to leave a mark, as he got to the bottom he turned to the sink pulling out the cleaning supplies and dropping them on the floor "clean this shit hole up, it better be done before I get up in the morning" when I didn't respond he back handed me across the face, and I felt my eye begin to sting. But as I recovered, I hadn't done it fast enough, because followed it up with his fist.
"Yes sir" I forced out before he could hit me again, and he shoved me forwards, causing me to trip and fall, but not before hitting my face on the edge of the cupboard he swiftly followed that with more kicks, and stamped on me, not quite breaking my ribs. I heard him snigger and walk away, as I knelt on the floor picking everything up that he had thrown.

As I put the last of the supplies away, I made a shopping list of things we needed so I could go shopping tomorrow, sticking it to the fridge, I got a glass of water, and sat down, thinking over what I had done to deserve any of this. My face was still hurting, but I figured that I needed to go to check on Logan, before my father got up. Grabbing the pain meds out of the cupboard, I made my way upstairs opening the door quietly, to find Logan awake, with lines of worry clear on his face,
"don't look at me like that, I'm okay" he shook his head
"you shouldn't have to be okay with that" but I brushed him off, opening the packaging, and handing him two pills, before going over to my desk and sitting down, resting my elbows on it as I cupped my head, I knew since I didn't ice my face, it would be bruised, but I didn't care right at that moment
"you should get some sleep" I mumbled to him, but ignored any other response he gave me. Eventually I heard soft snores coming from my bed.
