It's been a while - how many sunsets and sunrises have you seen,
Since the last time we met, the last time we talked
All the conversations we had replaying in the back of my mind.
Who we used to be
To each other, and to those around us
Little has changed after I walked out the door,
The day we decided it was best for, if not both, but one of us
To leave and never look back
It's a hazy day, grey and fog from head to toe
Covering lightly, not to the point of suffocation
The smell of ether that runs pass your nose and knocks you out
It lingers and flies you off to somewhere nice
Like a vacation on Cloud 9 or something like that
And then it stops.
Falling, falling, falling back down
Landing with a thud so loud
The fog drifts away and I'm lying here on the floor
Pills and empty bottles scattered around
I thought and I was wrong
This wasn't the answer.
