Dedicated to a friend who wanted me to write a poem for him.
A familiar laugh that echoes in the clouds
that float above; far away
too high to grasp, but too precious to let go
Below the rainbow, shadows loom over the land
All but one spotlight, smiling from the distance
A boy; the light at the end of the tunnel
The source of the laughter that echoes
over the mountains; down deep into the depths of the ocean
Searching for someone who'll show him the way
His way, to love, to life, to friendship
Innocence in his eyes, penetrating into the hearts of the devil
Melting ice and snow, bringing warmth and comfort
"Are you lonely, little boy?" They ask.
"Nope," he says. I'm right where I belong.
