I woke up with a massive headache, which felt like my head was splitting open. I got up and jumped in the shower, knowing that I had to go to work today.

I got out quickly and got dressed. I was up and out of the door in 30 minutes. I drove to the office and parked. As I walked in, I said hello to the lady at the desk and walked to the elevator. It went to shut as I walked up to it, but the person inside it stopped it for me.

"Thanks," I said, looking at the person. It was Phil.

"Dan..." he sighed. "I'm sorry, but please let me tell you what happened."

"Why are you explaining yourself?" I asked, staring at the floor with my hands in front of my waist. "We aren't together, you have no obligation to me." He was quiet and he ran his hand over his chest as the elevator opened.

"I'm sorry you feel that way," he spoke as he walked away. I stood in there by myself; puzzled. He walked away, towards his office and slammed the door behind him.

I walked to my desk and started my paperwork, trying to do it efficiently. I didn't know what he meant but I went on with my day, leaving the building without a word.
