I finally managed to bring all of my lugage up to the dorm, by myself. I was still skaky from my encounter with Harry, but I was too exhausted to worry over it. I would just try to stay out of his way, and maybe I would survive this year without having to talk to him.

When I made it back to the dorm, Zayn and Niall were still there. I wished they would leave, I was too tired too talk and needed to wake up early for my classes tomorrow. I walked in without giving any of them a glance, and layed down on the bed. I knew I needed to change and take my make up off, but I found myself dozing off. I was almost asleep when I felt someone nudge my arm.

"Bethany?" My eyes flew open. I found myself looking up to Niall's sweet face. He was smiling down at me. "Don't tell me your asleep. It's only 10!" He laughed.

I was slightly annoyed by him waking me, but I didn't want to be mean to him. I sat up and smiled.  "Yeah I have to get up early for my classes tomorrow, so I thought I'd go to bed now," I said.

He took a seat beside me on the bed, a little closer to me than I preffered. It made me feel slightly uncomfortable, but I didn't say anything.

"Sorry, I know your probably tired from your first day," He said apologetically.

"Just a little," I hoped he hadn't caught the annoyance in my voice.

After a a long awkward pause, Niall motioned towards Charlotte's bed.

"They didn't last long either," He laughed. I looked over to Charlotte's side of the room and saw her sprawled out on the bed, every one of her limbs extended, softly snoring. And on the floor Zayn was curled into a ball, his mouth wide open snoring loudly. They both looked exhausted and it made me that much more sleepy.

"Yeah I think I"m about to go to bed as well," I yawned. I started to stand to get ready for bed when he grabbed my arm just like Harry had earlier. Only it was much softer.

"Before you do, I really want to ask you something." He said shyly smiling. I sat back down on the bed as he released my arm and twiddled his thumbs.

He looked handsome under the soft lamplight, I noticed. He also seemed really sweet, despite his harsh appearance. If I had never met Niall, I would have thought he was rude or maybe even some kind of killer. I guess that's what people mean when they say you can't judge a book by its cover.

"I was just going to ask you if you'd like to go to a party with me this Friday?" He asked breaking me from my thoughts. His eyes were glued to his feet. I felt my cheeks flare up as I realized what he asked.

"Oh, um. I don't really do parties." I laughed softly, hoping he wouldn't think I was lame. Even though I kind of was. I had never been to a party that wasn't for someone's birthday.

"Why not?" He asked me. It would have been faster to tell him why I would.

"I've never really been to one.." I don't know why I was telling him this, but it felt good to be able to really talk to someone. I gave him a shy smile, and he grinned back.

"All the more reason you should come! And I'd be there to help you out, you know. Show you how to live a little," He poked me in the ribs playfully and I couldn't help but giggle. I knew he was only joking, but I couldn't help but think he was serious. Was I really that much of a buzzkill?

"I don't know.. Don't things usually get out of hand.. at those kind of parties?" My parents always told me nothing ever comes good out of college partying. There were usually drugs, alcohol, sex. Things I was never introduced to. I wasn't even aloud to think about such things.  But I couldn't help my curiosity.

He then laughed. And I suddenly felt selfconcious. I probably sounded like a child. But Niall then drapped his long arm over my shoulders and whispered.

"As long as your with me, everything will be all right," He winked at me before puling himself up off the bed.

"Zayn and I better get going, I'll pick you up around 9 Friday okay?" He asked, giving me another one of his cute smiles.

I found myself smiling back. "We'll see," I said. He seemed disappointed by my answer but didn't press me on it. I wasn't really sure if going to a party with Niall and his friends was something I should be doing. But I didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Niall nodded before walking over to a sleeping Zayn and Charlotte before gently nudging them both awake. Zayn groggily stood to his feet and Charlotte and I both waved them off as they left. I got up to put my Pj's on and noticed Charlotte staring at me.

"What?" I asked.

"I heard you and NIall talking," She said with a smirk. I felt myself blush madly as her smirk grew.

"Oh my Gosh! You like Niall!" She squealed.

"No! I mean I barely know him. Besides I'm not getting involved with any boys until all my work is done first," I told her. I was being honest. But I knew whatever I said wouldn't wipe that stupid grin off her face.

"Mhmm," She said. "Well, I think you should go with him Friday. I'll be there too and so will Zayn, I think you'd actually have a decent time," She gave me a pleasing smile.

"We'll see," I sighed giving her the same answer I had given Niall. I was too tired to discuss anything now anyway. I looked at my clock. Great, even if I went to bed now I'd only get 6 hours of sleep. I was not a morning person.

After I pulled on my Pj's I turned off the bedside lamp and climbed into my bed. I rolled over avoiding Charlotte's playful gaze. I closed my eyes to fall asleep, when she spoke softly through the dark.

"Loosen up Beth, you'll regret it if you don't,"

I heard her body shift, letting me know she was facing opposite of me now. It was barely a whisper, so I wasn't sure if I was meant to hear it or not. But I did.

And somewhere inside me, I knew she was right.
