"Go, I'll handle things" Gammy kissed my forehead "Go heal"

"Gammy, I'm scared" I cried while curled up in bed while Gammy made my suitcase in a hurry

She leaves things just to hold me

"Listen to me, child" she held my shoulders shaking my sad body "You'll get on that plane with your best friends, you will start over in a new place and put your head on your shoulders, your brain has been living for far too long in your heart, time to be reasonable again" she was harsh but not rude, I need this wake up call

"What about Luke?" I whine

"Think about yourself! And this child in you!" She shouts "I'll handle Luke! You gotta get back on your feet for this child growing inside you" she smothers my face kissing my cheek "Now go get a shower and eat something. Don't let my great-grandson starve"

I obey my nana because she knows best. After I cried some more during my shower and ate some leftovers I creeped into Zoe's room. She was sitting on her little pink table coloring.

"Hey zozo" I sit next to her kissing her cheek

"I saw Gammy dragging a suitcase from the big closet, are we going on a trip?" She stops for a second to look me

I sigh. I'm able to run away from everyone, but Zoe.

"Baby I'm going alone" I sigh again "Come here, my love" I spread my arms and she crawls on my lap. I kiss her forehead "I gotta Go away for a while"

"Why?" Her big doll eyes make me cry even more

I pierce her eyes and my heart breaks. I can't lie to her.

"My heart is sick, I need to go away to heal it" I try to uncomplicate it so she can understand. I leave the baby aside cause that's far too complicated.

"Will you come back?" Her little voice cracks

"Of course" I hug her tight "And I'll call everyday, it'll be like I've never left"

"I'll miss you" she resta her head on my chest "Luke will miss you too"

"Honey look at me" I ask her and she faces me "We must not tell Luke I'm going, he can't know where I'll be" I say slowly

"Why?"

"Because I need some time alone" I pause, thinking of a way to explain to her "Remember that trip we took for Mexico? And Dad got sick and the doctors isolated him in that room, not even we could visit him, remeber that?"

"Yes. I cried and you held me and sang me to sleep"

"Exatcly. He needed to be alone to heal faster, I need that too" She noded and rested her head again on my chest

"I hope you heal super mega fast" she kisses my neck "I miss you already"

"Miss you already too" we stay embraced for a while until she slept on my lap
