How can you say you love me
When you've seen my scars?
When you've kissed them?
How can you tell me that I'm beautiful
When you've seen my mind?
When you've heard my dark thoughts?
How can you tell me I'll be alright
When you know I'm crumbling?
When you know I'm scared?
Are you so sure that you can help,
That you would dare promise me that?
Are you positive you feel that way?
Or did you just need something to say?
Because I promise you,
I do not use words lightly.
And I hope you do not either.
