Poem 19

I so desperately want to tell you
That to truly understand me
You must read my poems
And see my pain
But I don't want to scare you
Dealing with a friend like me isn't easy
There's so many things you think
When you find out I am so sad
And you could know me for a week
And wonder if a poem is written about you
Because I focus on feelings
And not events
And you'll wonder where my scars are
Are my hips lined with them
Or my thighs?
Because that's what my poetry says
Is that little line on my forearm from harm?
Or is it from a hanger like I said?
But you'll never know, not truly
Because I don't want to hurt you
I would rather live in fear of myself
Than ask you for help
Because it's one thing to live with a monster
But another to create one
