Remember the time when we were sinless and pureRemember when we were children and received help when we cried
Do you remember when we didn't know the truth
When we hadn't hurt
When we hadn't cried
When we hadn't lied
When we hadn't experienced the terrible designs of our world
When we believed the design was for us and not them
We didn't think about the consequences and we didn't need to
We didn't need to think about every move we took or every breath we breathed
There was no need
But now there is
Now we have hurt
Now we have cried
Now we have lied
Now we know the design by heart
Now we know the truth
Now we know the truth from the lies and the fake from the real
And we try and try and try to shut out the honest world for we miss the old one
We miss the shield we had over our eyes that hid them from the glare of truth
We have tried to pretend we still have our shield and some of us have succeded
But there are the few who cannot allow themselves to put on their shields
They can't allow themselves to alter into what they were before
They are the ones who are the true adults
And only they can see it for they don't have their shield
They threw it away
They burnt it in the fire this world has made for itself
They can't go back to what they were and they don't want to
They are the ones that will still be here when the rest of the world has been turned to ruble
When the world has turned into ash
When the world has turned into the true picture of what it is
Only they will still be here for they don't have to panic at the world's image
They have seen it this way all along
And they will survive
If they are old, or young, or middle-aged
They will survive
And I am one of them
And I will survive
We will survive.
