(Merlin's POV)

When the Dark One arrived, I was anxiously awaiting my battle with the darkness within her. She was with the infamous Captain Hook, who seemed to have changed his ways; based on the light magic flowing between the two they had true love. He seemed untouched and without magical capabilities, but Emma Swan, she was practically swimming in sorcery and magic.

Emma's eyes had red circles beneath them, and she looked tired- inevitably suffering from night terrors that accompanied being the dark one- but, she had broken the magic, and physical appearance part of the dagger's curse. "Come, sit." I invited them into my cabin in Camelot. They sat on the couch in the center of the hobble and I sat across from them in the chair. "So, Dark One, are you ready to finally end the curse, and defeat the evil it presents?" I asked, stroking the white beard that had taken place in my years of waiting and preparing.

"That is what we came here to do." She assured. "But, how are we going to end this?" She questioned.

"Well I need your help to remove the darkness from the dagger, then I will defeat it once and for all." I explained, though I refused to tell them everything, that was for me to know.

(Killian's POV)

I wasn't quite sure how I felt about this Merlin character; he seemed to be holding something back. But, I did know how I felt about Emma; and what she didn't know is that I had a secret of my own. And I planned to act on it once this was over, and we were home.

We were taking a walk through the lush woods around Merlin's cabin, happy to stretch out legs after long days of riding through mountains, and valleys. We were simply talking; avoiding the topic of the looming battle. Trying to get as much time together as we could. She seemed oblivious to my plan which was good, it kept the element of surprise.

As we ventured deeper into the forest, I stopped her with my hook around her arm. I pulled her into me, and leaned in. I brushed my lips against her's, teasing her. Finally, she rose on her tip-toes, her arms around my neck, deepening the kiss. Nothing else mattered in that moment.

As the kiss continued, she wrapped her legs around my waist so I was carrying her. I walked forward pressing her up against a tree, letting it take some of her weight.

This is perfect, no interruptions. I thought to myself, reminding me of all the times things got in the way of us in StoryBrooke. Finally, she pulled away, breathing heavily, she whispered "I think you won it." She said with a smile.

"Won what?" I asked, setting her down, but refusing to let go of her.

"My heart, like you promised all that time ago." I brushed the back of her head with my hand, smoothing the golden locks.

"I'm a man of my word." I said with a smirk, placing a small kiss on her lips, and then another on the top of her head.
