Mom rubbed her temples and looked at Daisy. " Okay. You, Red and Blue are going to stay with Mia during her check up. I'll be with Ash."

Seven year old Blue nodded, looking at three year old me. " We'll keep an eye on her, Mrs. Ketchum."

Then he muttered under his breath, " It's no wonder after what happened last time that you guys were trying to avoid Mia's check up until the government found out."

Daisy shot Blue a sharp look. "Blue, hush."

Blue shrugged. "I'm just saying."

Mom sighed, rubbing her temples again. "I know." She crouched down in front of me, brushing some hair out of my face. "Sweetheart, I need you to be on your best behavior, okay?"

I blinked up at her, big brown eyes full of innocent confusion. "No check-up?"

Mom hesitated, glancing at Daisy, Red, and Blue. "Well... You do need a check-up, honey, but—"

Before she could finish, I immediately latched onto Red's leg.

Red, used to this by now, just patted my head.

Blue sighed dramatically. "Here we go again."

Daisy rolled her eyes. "Blue, please."

Mom stood up, exhaling. "Alright. I'll take Ash to his check-up. You three make sure Mia doesn't bolt."

Blue smirked. "Pfft. What's she gonna do? Outrun us?"

Daisy frowned. "Blue, don't jinx it."

Red, still patting my head, just nodded solemnly.

Mom gave one last exhausted sigh before walking down the hall with Ash.

The moment she was out of sight, I looked up at Red with wide, pleading eyes. "No check-up?"

Daisy knelt down. "Mia, sweetheart, it's really quick. Just a little check-up."

I frowned. "Last time was not quick."

Blue chuckled. "She's got a point."

Daisy shot him a look. "You are not helping."

I huffed, pressing my face against Red's leg.

Blue smirked. "Hey, Red, you could just carry her the whole time again."

Red gave him a flat look.

Daisy pinched the bridge of her nose. "That is not a solution, Blue."

Blue shrugged. "Worked last time."

Daisy groaned. "We are not getting into another standoff with the nurses today."

The door to the examination room opened, and a nurse stepped out with a clipboard. "Mia Ketchum?"

I froze.

Daisy smiled nervously. "That's us."

The nurse looked up and immediately sighed. "...Oh. It's her."

Blue snorted. "Wow. Didn't know she was famous."

The nurse gave him a look before focusing on me. "Okay, Mia, let's—"

I immediately ducked behind Red.

Red instinctively stepped in front of me, blocking her view.

The nurse groaned. "Oh, for the love of—" She sighed, rubbing her forehead. "We are not doing this again."

Daisy smiled tightly. "Don't worry. We've got this under control."

The nurse raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Do you?"

Daisy hesitated. "Well..."

I peeked out from behind Red, eyes still wide.

The nurse sighed again. "Look, we'll make it quick. But we do need her to actually come inside."

Blue grinned. "Hey, Red, you should just—"

Daisy cut him off. "Don't say it."

Red, meanwhile, just crouched down and held out a hand. "Mia."

I sniffled, clutching his sleeve.

He gently squeezed my hand.

I hesitated... then, very slowly, let him pick me up.

Blue smirked. "Called it."

Daisy smacked his arm.

The nurse sighed. "Alright. Let's just get this over with."

And with that, Red carried me into the exam room, while Blue and Daisy followed, bracing themselves for whatever chaos was about to unfold.
