Hilbert’s eyebrows shot up. “Wait, that’s a thing? People actually do that?”

Silver shot him a glare. “Obviously.” Then, turning back to me, he muttered, “And you are a prime example.”

I didn’t say anything, too focused on the overwhelming amount of work glaring back at me from my screen. My fingers found their way to my eyebrows again, tugging absentmindedly.

Silver tch’d in frustration, grabbing my wrist and pulling my hand away. “Enough.” His grip wasn’t rough, but it was firm, his red eyes narrowing. “Do you even realize you’re doing it?”

I blinked up at him, then glanced at my other hand, which was now tugging at a loose strand of hair.

Silver sighed, muttering under his breath before releasing my wrist and rummaging through his bag again.

Hilbert leaned over slightly. “Soooo... is this, like, something that can be fixed? Or…?”

Silver shot him a look. “It’s not about ‘fixing’ it, moron. It’s a compulsive disorder.”

Hilbert raised his hands. “Alright, alright, chill. Just trying to understand here.”

Silver pulled out a small fidget toy and placed it firmly in my hand. “Squeeze this instead.”

I turned it over in my palm—a soft, squishy stress ball.

“I don’t need this,” I muttered.

Silver crossed his arms. “You do if you don’t want to go completely bald.”

I scowled at him. “You’re exaggerating.”

He deadpanned. “Am I? Because from what I can see, your eyebrows are already uneven.”

I gasped, reaching for my phone to check my reflection. “What?!

Hilbert snorted. “Oh now she reacts.”

Silver just sighed, rubbing his temples. “I swear, dealing with you is more exhausting than a battle.”

Hilbert winced

Hilbert winced. "Oh. That... sounds rough."

Silver sighed, moving his hands with practiced precision as he checked my abdomen for any tenderness. "Yeah, and judging by how much she’s pulling, she’s really stressed. How long has this been going on?"

I shrugged, still staring at my screen. "Dunno. A while."

Silver shot Hilbert a glare. "And you just noticed?"

Hilbert held up his hands defensively. "Hey, she’s always pulling at her eyebrows! I thought it was just... y’know, a habit."

Silver muttered something under his breath before refocusing on me. His fingers found a particularly tense spot near my ribs, and I flinched.
