Red groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Mia, you said one more page five pages ago."
I pouted, shaking his shoulders. "But this one's important! Growlithe is my favorite!"
He raised a brow. "Since when?"
I hesitated. "Since now."
Red sighed heavily, but I could see the corners of his lips twitching. He was so close to caving. "Mia…"
I gasped dramatically. "You wouldn't deny your sweet, adorable little sister her one wish, would you?" I clasped my hands together and batted my eyelashes. "Red, my dearest, kindest, most wonderful big brother—"
"Fine!" he groaned, flipping the page. "One. More. Page. After that, you sleep."
"YES!" I cheered, snuggling onto his chest as he started reading.
Red sighed again but smiled as he continued the story, while I listened, my eyes slowly getting heavier with each word.

Red sighed again, rubbing his eyes as he glanced at the book resting on his pillow. "Mia…"
I pouted dramatically, giving him my best pleading eyes. "Just one more page! One more, and I swear I'll go to bed!"
Red gave me a long, tired look before finally exhaling. "Fine. One more page. And then you're sleeping, got it?"
I beamed, settling onto his chest as he picked up the book and flipped to the next page. "Alright, let's see… 'Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Extremely loyal and protective, Growlithe will never back down from defending its Trainer.'"
I gasped. "Just like you!"
Red chuckled, ruffling my hair. "Yeah, yeah. I guess."
I hummed, resting my chin on my hands as he kept reading.
Maybe if I stayed really quiet, he’d read another page without realizing…

Red groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Mia, you’ve said 'one more page' ten times already."
I pouted, bouncing a little on his chest. "But Red, just think about it—what if Growlithe has a secret move I don’t know about? What if I never know? What if I miss out on something super cool? What if I never get to sleep again because I’ll be thinking about it forever?"
He gave me a deadpan look. "You’ll be fine."
"No, I won't!" I flopped dramatically, resting my chin on his sternum and giving him my best, most pitiful puppy eyes. "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, Red?"
He sighed again, looking like he was fighting a losing battle. He grabbed the book from the nightstand, flipping to the next page. "One. Then you sleep."
I gasped excitedly, sitting up. "YES!"
He mumbled under his breath as he started reading. "Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Extremely loyal and will fearlessly protect its trainer—"
I grinned, already knowing I’d ask for another page after this.
