Ceecee babled as she clapped her little hands together, giggling happily as she went up and down on my stomach as I lay on my living room floor. " Ba!"

Silver, seeing the distraction, quickly placed the stethoscope on Ceecee's little chest. She blinked, confused.

" Ceecee..." I said in the singsong voice as I reached for her Pokedoll. " Look what I have!"

Silver nodded as he heard the thumping of Ceecee's heart, then gently lowered her so she was laying down on me.

Silver adjusted his grip on Ceecee as she wiggled in his hands, her tiny fingers grabbing at the air. “Alright, kiddo, let’s see how you’re doing,” he muttered, his red eyes focused as he gently placed a hand on her stomach.

Ceecee let out a little squeal, kicking her legs as his cool fingers pressed against her soft belly. Silver’s brows furrowed slightly as he palpated her stomach, checking for any unusual firmness or discomfort. “Feels normal,” he murmured.

I tilted my head from my spot on the floor, watching. “No weird lumps or anything?”

Silver rolled his eyes. “No, Mia, your kid’s not secretly a Voltorb.” He gently tickled her side, making her giggle and squirm. “It’s soft, which is good. No bloating, no tight spots.”

Satisfied, he shifted her slightly in his arms and studied her little face. Her brown eyes—deep, warm, and full of life—blinked up at him in curiosity. The color reminded me of honey-dipped wood, rich and lively. They widened slightly as Silver moved a finger close to her face, watching how her pupils reacted to the change in distance.

“She’s tracking just fine,” he noted. Then he carefully tilted her head to the side, looking into each eye. “No cloudiness, no irritation. Pupils are reacting well.”

Ceecee babbled something incomprehensible and smacked her tiny hands against Silver’s chest. He let out a quiet sigh before shifting her again to check her ears. Carefully, he pressed his thumb just behind her ear and gave a gentle tug, checking for any sensitivity. No reaction. Then, using his other hand, he lightly ran a finger along the outer shell of her ear, feeling for any swelling or bumps.

“Ears are clear,” he muttered. “No redness, no wax buildup.” He leaned in closer to inspect the inside. “No signs of infection, either.”

I grinned. “She’s a tough little thing.”

Silver gave me a look before gently pressing a thumb against Ceecee’s chin, encouraging her to open her mouth. “C’mon, kid, let’s see those gums.”

Ceecee, naturally, refused.

She clamped her mouth shut and turned her head dramatically to the side, letting out a determined “Mmmph!”

Silver sighed. “Of course. Why would this be easy?”

I laughed. “She gets that from me.”

He shot me a glare before trying again. This time, he tapped her bottom lip with the tip of his finger. Ceecee hesitated, then—probably thinking it was a game—opened just wide enough for Silver to get a quick look inside.

“No swelling, no sores. Gums look pink and healthy,” he reported. “No teeth yet, but that’s normal.”

Ceecee, having had enough of being examined, grabbed Silver’s finger and immediately tried to stuff it into her mouth.

Silver groaned, gently pulling his hand away. “Okay, yeah, she’s fine.”

I chuckled as Ceecee gave him an innocent look, then clapped her hands in victory. “She likes you.”

Silver scowled, wiping his hand on his jeans. “She tried to eat me.”

I reached out and scooped my daughter up, pressing a kiss to her soft, chubby cheek. “That means she really likes you.”

Silver rolled his eyes but didn’t argue. Instead, he stretched his arms and stood up. “Well, congrats. Your kid’s in perfect health.”

I grinned, holding Ceecee close. “I told you she’s tough.”

Ceecee giggled and smacked my face lightly, as if agreeing.

Silver sighed, crossing his arms. “Yeah, yeah. Just keep an eye on her. And if she ever does actually start teething, good luck.”

I laughed. “Oh, don’t worry. I’ll survive.”

Silver gave me a skeptical look but didn’t push it. Instead, he just muttered, “Yeah, we’ll see about that,” before heading toward the door.

Ceecee, still full of energy, let out a happy squeal and kicked her legs.

I smiled. Everything was fine.
