"What? I'm in the middle of a date-," He said. I didn't have time for his nonsense.
"Franky, Yor is in the hospital and Anya never made it to school. WISE is on the task of locating Anya, but I need your help. Please Franky," I beg as I gripped my hair in frustration. What is happening to my family...
"I'll be there soon," Franky replied.
"Thank you... thank you so much, I just.... i don't-" I began stuttering, my heart was pounding out of my chest. I couldn't seem to calm down. The nurse that was attending to Yor signaled me to come inside.
"I have to go Franky, they want me to go in. Please.. please help me find Anya," I hung up the phone walking into the hospital, the nurse had an unreadable expression.
"Is Yor okay? are the babies safe?" I asked immediately, the nurse nodded leading me outside the room Yor was in.
"Mrs. Forger is stable, she has a very high fever which is the reason for her weakened state. There is something we found in her bloodwork..." The nurse said as she took out a paper from her clipboard. "it seems Mrs. Forger has been exposed to a rare toxin. It's not something we commonly encounter, which made it difficult to diagnose at first," the nurse explained, her voice professional yet tinged with concern.
My heart sank further. "A toxin? How did she get exposed?"
"We're not sure yet, but we've started her on an antidote that should counteract it. The good news is, the babies are stable, and the fever is starting to come down," the nurse reassured me, glancing at the room where Yor lay.
I nodded, trying to process the information. "Thank you. Please do everything you can for her and the babies."
"Of course. We'll keep a close eye on her and let you know if there are any changes," the nurse said before heading back to check on her patient.
As I stood there, feeling the weight of the situation pressing down on me, my phone was buzzing in my pocket. I pulled it out realizing I had 10 missing calls from Franky. With one last glance at Yor, I stepped to the waiting area, dialing Franky's number.
"Franky-"
"Twilight.... Please listen," Franky said, his usual playful tone replaced with a more serious status. "Damian was captured... Anya and her friends were trying to look for him, the group was ambushed, but only Anya was taken."
My heart sank to my stomach hearing that both of them were taken.
"What about the other kids?" I ask
"I'm with them right now. Sebastian wants to talk to you," Franky said, he passed the phone.
"Mr. Forger, I'm so sorry; we will do everything we can to bring Anya and Damian back," Sebastian choked out, his words filled with a heavyweight. "it's all my fault... The people that took Anya was Alina and her family... our family.... I should've known this from the start,"
I knew Alina and Sebastian were related, but from my observation and Anya's interactions, it seemed Sebastian couldn't have known what was happening with Alina. He tried to help Anya locate Damian, if he was associated with Alina, he wouldn't have risked himself like that.
"Thank you, Sebastian, there's no need to apologize, it's not your fault at all. Do you have any idea where the Carters reside? or maybe have some type of private residence?" I asked, trying to focus on finding a lead.
Sebastian hesitated before replying, "Yes, they have a private estate outside the city. It's secluded, heavily guarded, but I have the coordinates. We'll need to act fast and with precision."
"Send me the location. We'll assemble a team and move out immediately," I said, my voice steady despite the turmoil inside me.
Sebastian quickly provided the details. Franky, still on the line, chimed in, "I'll gather the necessary equipment and meet you at the rendezvous point. We can't afford any mistakes."
"Understood. We'll bring them back," I affirmed, determination hardening my resolve.
As I ended the call, I couldn't help but think about Anya and Damian, hoping they were holding on. There was no time to waste. This mission was personal. I went back to Yor's room to check on her one last time, her eyes fluttered open, in her weakened state, she still manages to display a small smile.
"Loid-d... is everything okay?" She whispered softly. I nodded, gently grabbing her hand.
"Yes, of course," I said, trying my best to keep a calm demeanor. "You rest, my love. I'll take care of everything." Yor nodded slowly, before shutting her eyes again. I pressed a kiss on her forehead. I let go of her hand, beginning to make my way out of the hospital when I noticed an arrangement of flowers placed next to Yor. I turned back around, noticing a small card in the center of the roses. I picked it up, opening it; my heart began pounding.
"Consider this your warning Twilight. Unless you want to lose your entire family, don't bother looking for Subject 007, - Orion"
