Loid's POV:
This was it, Eden's annual camping trip. The students were taken to a camp about two hours away from the academy. I had arrived the day prior with Franky.
"What the hell Twilight?! Why did I have to come spy on your daughter with you! If i'm not mistaken she's your kid not mine!" Franky screeched as we began implanting small cameras in between the tree barks.
"Yes and if something were to happen to my daughter, Operation Strix would be done for. The war would advance making you Franky Franklin- Fit, single, under 30- a nice candidate to send over to the frontlines. Might I add, your loss of funding from WISE," I replied back, unhooking my clip as I walked towards the fire we made.
"Oh ho ho, I was just messing around, where do you want these audio traps?" he asked, picking up an arms worth of wires.
"Everywhere, I need to see and hear everything that comes in and out of this lake," I reply.
Morning came, without a wink of sleep, Franky and I made our way to the top of the trees. The Eden bus arrived around 11:30. Mr. Henderson began separating the groups to different locations. Anya's group had been told to go westward towards the lake.
"But, Mr. Henderson! There has to be another place we can set camp!" Becky yelled. Mr Henderson simply shook his head no.
"I'm sorry Ms. Blackbell, but there is no other location, Mr. Desmond's campground is big enough to support all of you, you are wasting daytime, I suggest you make your way towards the lake while you still have time. Remember, setting up your tent and fire is a grade!" Mr. Henderson turned around leaving a speechless Becky.
"Are you going to be okay Anya?" she whispered. Anya gave a small nod. Why was she so upset to be near Desmond? I made a mental note to keep an eye out as Franky and I proceeded to make our way towards the west lakefront.
"You know Twilight, Anya and that Desmond boy have gotten quite close. Do you think they've become somethi-" I quickly slapped Franky. "What the hell!?"
"Shut up Franky, Anya doesn't like Damain like that, she can't..." I reply looking at Anya prepare her campsite with her group. She utilized the different strategies Yor and I taught her. I couldn't help but feel proud of my daughter. Night began to ascend, Franky snored as I kept watch over the lake, observing Anya's every move. It wasn't just about protecting her; it was about understanding her. She was my daughter, but she was also a piece in this intricate game. As the camp settled into the night, whispers floated through the trees, snippets of conversations that hinted at deeper intrigues within Eden Academy.
Anya seemed distant, lost in her thoughts as she sat by the fire. She whispered something to Becky and made her way towards the woods. I stood getting ready to follow her. Suddenly I noticed Alina Carter another one of Anya's classmates clutching Damian as they made their way towards the woods. Interesting.
Franky stirred awake, rubbing his eyes. "Anything interesting happen? "
"Stay here, keep an eye out. I'll be back," I said as I began climbing down the trees, following Anya and her classmates.
~
I quickened my pace as I made my way through the dark forest. It was quiet, the only sounds coming from the rustling of leaves under my boots and the occasional hoot of an owl. I navigated through the trees with practiced ease, my senses alert for any sign of movement or presence nearby. Suddenly I hear yelling.
"Alina, why did you do that?!"
I made my way towards the voice. There standing outside the bathroom was Damian and Alina, Damian's stance seemed as if something erupt had occurred. Where was Anya?
