Yors POV:

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My sweet, innocent, carefree; Anya had gone through all this pain. What about her real parents? Where did they fit in this equation? I knew Demetrius was subject 002, however, the first victim... I wonder if Melinda has such a cold heart to allow her husband to do this type of activity to their children?

On the screen, a group of scientists appeared. They all wore similar white lab coats, but one young man stood out. He was fairly younger than the rest, and something about his aura seemed different. He must have been some type of intern—his body language was stiff, and he looked almost afraid.

"With over hundreds of test subjects, Project Eclipse was merely weeks away from being utilized on the frontlines," one of the older scientists began, his voice carrying a hint of pride and madness. My heart pounded as I tried to piece together what I was hearing. The implications were terrifying. The young intern seemed to flinch at the words, his eyes darting around nervously. He caught my gaze for a brief moment through the recording, and I saw a flicker of something—remorse, perhaps? Fear? It was hard to tell, but it gave me a sliver of hope. Maybe, just maybe, there was someone on the inside who wasn't completely lost to this madness.

I leaned closer to the screen, my breath catching in my throat as the older scientist continued. "These experiments are crucial for our success. We must push the boundaries of what's possible, no matter the cost."

"What about test subject 101?" one of the other scientists asked. "Have there been any developments?"

The lead scientist's expression darkened. "Subject 101 remains unresponsive. We're increasing the dosage and intensifying the procedures. We must have results before deployment."

Subject 101. Who were they? Another child like Anya? My mind raced with possibilities. This was bigger than I'd imagined, and I had to find a way to stop it.

The intern shifted uncomfortably, drawing the lead scientist's attention. "Is there something you'd like to add, Dr. Weston?" the lead scientist asked with a cold smile.

Dr. Weston. His title didn't match his demeanor; he looked more like a deer caught in headlights. "N-no, sir," he stammered. "Just...concerned about the ethical implications."

The lead scientist's smile widened, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Ethics have no place in war, Dr. Weston. Remember that."

My fists clenched in anger. I wanted to smash the screen, to somehow reach through and stop them all. But I couldn't do that. Not yet. I needed more information. We needed to find Dr. Weston. He might be the key to understanding—and stopping—Project Eclipse.

"Is there any information on a Dr. Weston?" I ask Handler with a shaky voice. I couldn't help the emotion that seeped through. In my training, the first rule was to leave any sentimental values out of the mission, but I couldn't help it this time. Anya was too important.

Handler looked at me with a mixture of concern and determination. "I'll see what I can find," she said. "But remember, Yor, we have to proceed cautiously. We can't afford to alert them to our intentions."

I nodded, trying to calm my racing heart. The stakes were higher than ever, and I needed to stay focused. For Anya's sake. Loid didn't say anything as he was lost in deep thought, I loved and cared about Anya, but I can't even imagine how Loid is feeling right now...

"You two should head home, I will let you know of anything I can find," Handler said. I nodded making my way towards the exit, expecting Loid to follow behind me. However, he stayed put in his same position. His eyes were dull, lifeless, lost. His expression displayed no emotions, but he gave out a powerful energy I learned to recognize- the need for revenge.
