A decade has passed since Operation Strix began. The once volatile tensions between the East and West have calmed, thanks in part to Loid Forger's relentless efforts. However, rumors of a new program designed to reignite the hostilities have started...
We began talking for a bit, while he waited for his last session. It was a nice distraction from the chaos occurring in our lives.. I can't help but appreciate everything he's done for me. He suggested we walk to school tomorrow, I accepted right away, I would take any opportunity available to see him.
As I continued down the familiar streets, the evening breeze gently ruffling my hair, I thought about how much Damian meant to me. Despite our hectic schedules, he always made time for me, even if it was just a quick call or a shared walk. It was these little moments that made everything feel worthwhile.
The night was quiet, the stars beginning to twinkle in the darkening sky. I felt a sense of peace, knowing I had someone like Damian by my side. No matter what challenges we faced, I knew we could get through them together. I looked forward to our walk to school, anticipating the comfort of his presence and the joy of simply being together.

The next morning, I woke up with a sense of excitement. I texted him a Good Morning text and began making my way to the bathroom to get ready. I decided to put my hair up in a ponytail today, I know how much he liked it last time I wore it. I began tying up my hair, removing two strands to frame my face. Content with my hair, I made my way into my closet, finding my uniform. As I slipped into my uniform, my thoughts drifted to him. I wanted everything to be perfect, so I took a moment to smooth out any wrinkles on my shirt and skirt and adjusted my tie. I grabbed my bag and headed downstairs, greeted by the smell of breakfast. Papa was already up, bustling around the kitchen.
"Good Morning Anya," he said with a warm smile "Breakfast is almost ready. Sit down and eat before you go, also it's getting chilly outside, make sure you wear a sweater,"
I smiled back and nodded, joining him at the table. I noticed Mama wasn't here.
"Where's Mama?" I ask worriedly.
"She wasn't feeling too well this morning, so I decided to let her sleep in," Papa replied. I nodded, feeling a twinge of concern for Mama. "I hope she feels better soon," I said softly.
"She will," Papa assured me, placing a plate of scrambled eggs and toast in front of me. "She just needs some rest."
Relieved, I began eating my breakfast. Papa's cooking was always comforting, and it helped settle the nervous excitement bubbling inside me. As I finished my meal, I glanced at the clock. It was almost time to meet Damian. I pulled out my phone expecting to see a message, but I found nothing. That's strange... Maybe his phone died?
Thanks, Papa," I said, getting up and grabbing a light sweater from the coat rack. "I'll see you later!"
"Have a good day, Anya," he called after me. "And say hi to Damian for me!"
I stepped outside, the cool morning air nipping at my cheeks. Pulling my sweater a little tighter, I made my way to the corner where Damian and I usually met. Minutes passed and there was no sign of him. My nose began to turn red from the cold as I waited. I checked my phone again, hoping for a message, but still nothing. A knot of worry began to form in my stomach. This wasn't like Damian at all. It was about to be 8:00, I had to start making my way to school before I was late. As I began walking to school, I heard hurried footsteps approaching. I looked up hoping to see Damian, but instead I saw a flash of blonde. Ewen?
