The President of the CROS along with his usual entourage and then some more people stood on a balcony overlooking an area. The area had a glowing multicolored square floating in the middle, seeming to serve the same purpose as a pentagram. Unusually equipped CROS personnel surrounded the object. From a glance, there were 69 operatives present in the room and participating in the ritual.

As the chanting and ritual continued and the President watched, thaumaturgic energy manifested rather obviously in the middle of the room, clumping up above the shape. Bits of energy swirled around a central sphere, and as the chanting reached a certain point, the sphere burst. Energy exploded around the room harmlessly as exit doors opened, and those in attendance quickly exited.

A field began to visibly form in the room as the President was leaving, then rapidly expanding out to envelope the planet. The atmosphere barely changed visibly, though thaumaturgic energy levels surged. As soon as the field appeared, pocket dimensions underwent a sort of 'flicker' state, where they would fade in and fade out of existence in the space that they occupied. 

An elevator launched the CROS's President up to an underground hangar, where he then teleported himself over to one of his VTOL crafts. His entourage piled in alongside him, and the craft took off. Its engines barely created a sound when revving up and exiting the hangar. A few seconds later, the craft was in orbit and racing towards Mercury, its afterburners relatively roaring.

The presidential VTOL spotted another VTOL attempting to flee atmosphere. The presidential VTOL (PVTOL) hailed the other VTOL to alert them to its presence, the response being affirmative. As they blasted through orbit, a cruiser belonging to the Unioners began blasting them with heavy AA fire. 375mm automatic guns and missiles opened up, resulting in the PVTOL getting a wing blasted off and being rendered immobile. The other VTOL, though taking heavier damage, managed to escape to Mercury.

"Shock and Awe Part Two"

The energy field mentioned prior expanded to cover the entire planet and now its orbit, with pocket dimensions, even those considered locked, flickering. Fissures formed under Coalition ground forces as the field expanded. Something inside the fissures was glowing, and its brightness shone through the incredibly thick magma layer already covering whatever it was. CROS buildings collapsed, biosphere preservation zones ripped apart as thaumaturgically-sensitive animals fell into the fissures or hid away.

Across the borders of universes, the main New World Union also suffered some effects. It was confined to specific individuals in its upper echelons and structures that had eldritch ties, however, unlike the subtle transformation only detected basically as of this moment (story-wise), it was very apparent. Coalition vehicles and infantry were scooped up by AHM-64s, other choppers, and even frigates as pocket dimensions were restored. 

"ABORT ABORT ABORT!" Commands to that effect were broadcasted all over comms networks, as infantry boarded their vehicles and their helicopters as CAS aircraft quickly broke atmosphere along with non space-capable choppers also being retrieved. Evacuations sped up immensely,  with a fair amount of soldiers and civilians being rescued from the... event. Other aircraft, such as Realmer and Rodinan ones, dodged and weaved collapsing buildings to break through to the atmosphere.
