Thanks to time dilation systems still not being completely up and running in the Thuian universe, it felt like years had passed during the siege when it had only been going on for a few days, and since the CROS was occupied defending their capital, this majorly decreased the amount of forces at play attacking the SRF. Reinforcements the CROS hoped to acquire were sunk when they were ambushed by Strike Group Thuia-Delta, and Strike Group Thuia-Gamma was now going to finish them off.

Large 27500+mm burst guns were now at play, firing off guided munitions and missiles off towards the unexpecting CROS. Thanks to CROS advancements during the war, their point-defense and air defense systems were able to intercept plenty of strikes. Immediately, within the first second of the battle, casualties were already being taken by both sides, though the CROS seemed worse off.

Missiles blipped through empty space and struck targets precisely, and fighter swarms were also being deployed. Smaller missiles would periodically be launched from the swarm formations, which would also break off and join other formations in a decently unpredictable manner, allowing the smaller craft to fire off their weaponry and overwhelm yet more CROS ships with clouds of missiles.

This also boosted individual craft survivability, as the odds of any single craft being hit were already astronomically low, and the brute force dissipation and reformation of the swarms to decrease chances of being hit certainly contributed a lot to individual craft survivability. Both sides were hitting each other with munitions powerful enough to destroy another in one shot, and with the upgrade packages that both sides had installed mid-conflict, this was definitely necessary.

Ships lucky enough to not be annihilated either by clouds of smaller missiles or small teams of larger missiles were able to regenerate their parts, and as aircraft were being blown up, more would replace them on both sides. A UIGR fleet also now arrived on the Union's side, ripping into and violently tearing apart the CROS' flimsy defensive line with dense yet highly concentrated gunfire.

Holes were being rapidly poked into the CROS line as heavy UIGR vessels would get into very, very close range and breach through the hole. Heavy vessels tore up swathes of CROS vessels, though not without sustaining casualties themselves. Lighter vessels and fighter craft complements surrounded the UIGR push as the NWU would essentially be relegated to a suppressing fire role.

It seemed the NWU's vessels intended on filling this role to the best of their ability from the amount of coordinated, calm messages being spread around their communications networks. Photonlasers would precisely cut and slice through more densely packed CROS ships around the main formation of UIGR breaching through. Missiles followed, causing CROS fleets to bunch up and, consequently, bunch their anti-air defense systems together.

This did somewhat better at limiting the NWU's capability to light them up with missiles and weaponry, which, to the CROS, was the bigger threat, but it left them more vulnerable to the nearby UIGR forces. Communications on the CROS side clearly showed that they were targeting the NWU's ships above the UIGR's ships, likely due to some sense of arrogance telling them that the "weaker UIGR is not as much of a threat as the NWU".

This was a MASSIVE mistake the likes of which me, narrator guy, is not paid enough to overstate, as the UIGR forces simply massed into reverse C formations, blasting towards the CROS. Aggressive maneuvering occurred on the CROS' side to bring as many weapons to bear as they possibly could and also evade UIGR attacks. As a result, many flew too far from their formations and got picked off by the NWU, who was essentially sitting and sniping.
