Part 15: WE HAVE A CONFIRMED-

Some trees collapsed on some rather unfortunate drones, resulting in them needing to teleport out of the way. Some drones, armed with rather insufficient onboard systems, spent too much energy on calculating targeting solutions to the point where they were unable to evade the large trees falling on them, resulting in the drones being disabled. The Marines armed with M1127s, both standard and carbine variants, without a thought continued spamming grenades.

The grenades silently fell through the sky, exploding all around the tank as the MBT's crew cheered (internally). Some trees collapsed, crushing more drones. A lot more were now about to have trouble, as the Marines, not that accustomed to using this XM-22 power armor, forgot to turn on its jammers and obviously would turn the jammers on. "You gotta be fucking kidding me bro..." Equinox unintentionally transmitted, then turning on his jammers.

The drones' targeting systems were now shorting out, and their autopilot systems soon began to follow. About half of the drones attacking the MBT stopped working and simply collapsed into piles, allowing the Marines to land. They would then start ripping up the downed drones with automatic fire. Bits of shrapnel thinned out and then disintegrated thanks to preexisting enchantments on the drones, but some bits still managed to hit the others.

Allied drop pods impacted all around the park, ground drones armed with 40mm cannons and jury-rigged/modified missile launchers started dumping munitions at targets near the Marines. Air strikes landed all around from both sides, a bomb grazing Landship 6-5's turret. Said bomb exploded in the syn-soil that made up the ground, the force of which caused a tree to be uprooted and fall onto the ground.

"Close one." A Marine remarked as a sponson machine gun on Landship 6-5's side ripped up a defensive crew-served CROS gun emplacement. Some infantry units tried to flee, but a canister-like munition fired from 6-5's main gun literally turned the hostiles firing at it into molten slag. An unmanned aerial attack drone dove in for a strafe on the MBT, but took several shots from a roof gun.

These shots ripped off its rear stabilizers and the back end of its wings, causing it to lose control. Emergency stabilization kicked in and it attempted to boost away, but an airburst rocket fired by a ground drone knocked it out of the sky. It crashed into a road then, right in front of a group of ISUGVs. "Thanks, Marines. Drinks are on me," Landship 6-5's controller said.

"Any time broski." The Marine transmitted back, landing in front of the MBT along with the rest of his fireteam. One of them pinged a relatively advantageous location at the entrance of a CROS surface installation, and the MBT started heading that way. Immediately, machine gun, autocannon, grenade, and missile fire started up as the MBT proceeded. The tank's turret turned to face a building just after emerging from the 'forest'.

"Engaging secondary targets." The tank's controller called out. A 175mm shell was slammed into the side of the building, a blue explosion erupting from the resulting hole and also engulfing a large chunk of the street. After this, an even larger explosion turned the building to rubble. Fragments of both structure and the hyper complex runes laser-cut into them flew in literally every direction. 

A ping sounded in Landship 6-5's UI along with a notification that read [+13500 EXP - SECONDARY OBJECTIVE DESTROYED]. The MBT continued with a sizeable escort of Marines and ISUGVs, and said MBT turned down a corner. As soon as it did, its turret took aim at a grenade launcher nest. The fortified grenade launcher fired first, causing minor damage to the MBT's exterior though badly damaging several ground drones.

The infantry escort took cover and pushed into a building on the tank's right. They rapidly cleared it as evidenced from the lack of sound coming from it. Equinox and his Marines jetpacked their way over a wall, landing on the opposite end. A Marine discharged his enhanced-length rocket launcher (ayo?) down an alleyway, blowing up a small group of CROS ground drones.
