A screech would occur, coming from the ceiling, though despite that, the firefight continued. The guards were taking heavy casualties, and some exited the room. A notably young official managed to tailgate a guard out of the room, a gunshot ringing out as the guard was shot. Soon after, the rest of the guards would start to evacuate the room, much to the confusion of the armed officials inside it.

"Security inside termination area, be advised. Hostile forces will be cleared out without your input - codename Slaughterhouse is in effect. Enforcer is now at play." As such, the guards were now finishing up evacuating the room, some providing cover fire to allow their colleagues to exit safely.

Yet another loud screech sounded from the roof, with a part of the roof being kicked down. A six-legged robotic creature landed on the ground, dressed in modified elite CROS armor. It opened fire on the officials, helping the turrets cut them down. A lucky experimental grenade-like munition from an official who brought a grenade launcher impacted the side of the creature's head, sending it flying into the wall. A turret killed the official with the launcher, though part of the creature's head was blown off.

It got back on its feet, jumping back into the ceiling. By now, the other officials well acquainted with the party were being lead to their quarters, and the section of the facility leading to the entrance to the sound-proofed room were sealed off with a relatively shoddy fake wall - slight, shallow fissures visible on its surface.

CROS Homeworld

A small group of AHM-64s plummeted from the atmosphere, rockets immediately firing. Guns mounted under their wings also immediately opened fire on targets, and remote controlled weapon stations affixed to their sides also opened fire on the cityscape below. A rocket barrage was launched from a skyscraper at an AHM-64, but the aforementioned RCWS shot most of them down. A helicopter had its optics blinded and jammed, forcing its pilot to activate autopilot. A lucky CROS rocket was able to slam into its wing, penetrating through the shield and its APS and ripping off the wing.

The dislodged wing crashed into the side of a building, taking out half of it at that level. A massive fire also immediately broke out from the wing impacting a thaumaturgic gunpowder-esque material magazine. Some CROS personnel in the building caught fire, some unfortunate ones wandering off the side and earning themselves broken bones. Genetic augmentation did not seem to fully shield them from the effects of falling from a three mile tall building.

Missiles dropped from the sky behind the choppers, reorienting themselves and screaming past them, bombarding a park. Civilian cars and bodies were launched into the air from the blast force of the explosions, both similarly crashing into buildings. RCWS systems opened fire on the debris flying towards the choppers, TPRUS points being awarded to the soldiers that shot down debris successfully.

Once over certain bombed-out areas of the city, the AHM-64s simply ejected parts of their fuselage. These were troop carriers, and they landed in the midst of NWU terrestrial strike groups. They spat out their own complements of infantry, though some carrier pods were shot out of the air by light CROS MANPAD/short-range air defense systems. Upon landing, one Marine codenamed Equinox got his gear ready.

"AYE, WE'RE MOVING! JETPACKS UP!" Master Gunnery Sergeant 'Equinox' transmitted to his fireteam. One thing about this Marine and his fireteam stand out though, and it is that they are equipped with prototype XM-22 NGIEXS armor from Nexus Defense specifically. Nexus Defense's submission was a particularly heavy armor set- officially designated by the corp as 'power armor'. A broadcast from command came in, which the Master Gunnery Sergeant (MGYSGT) received, reading "Landship 6-5 is stranded in a synthetic swamp park on the surface. If in range, please respond."
