Part 15: WE HAVE A CONFIRMED-

The UIGR vessels rushed to encircle these formations entirely, applying more pressure and figuratively shoving copious amounts of ordnance into these relatively massed balls of CROS ships. Explosions the sizes of large continents ripped through small parts of the formations. Chain reactions would sometimes occur, but often the CROS's ships were not close enough to be able to be hit by the explosions caused by these reactions.

As these formations would slowly pressure the CROS's own formations tighter and tighter, some vessels would quickly speed over to a nearby red supergiant star surrounded by clouds of debris. They would collectively lock their tractor beams on it and collectively launch their ships sideward in a clearly very effort-intensive attempt to fling it at the UIGR's formations. From the messages transmitted around UIGR comms, it would clearly seem that they had not expected this.

Two formations of UIGR vessels and also unfortunately two formations of CROS vessels were immediately overwhelmed by the ridiculous amount of mass being flung at them. This resulted in the vessels being sent either flying or getting sucked by the star's gravity deeper into it, rendering them combat ineffective until they could exit the star. Constant yet relatively (emphasis on relatively) superficial damage was being dealt to all of the ships pulled into the star.

Those deeper in the star were obviously receiving much more damage than those at the star's corona and outer layers, and the NWU would take this opportunity and put it to good use. Their ships would rapidly reposition, positioning themselves in what would be right next to the path of the star if it kept moving. Missiles and weaponry being fired, even with their dim light, occurred with such synchronization and such 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 that it seemed like about ten supernovae went off in the local area repeatedly, definitely confusing any sentient species that could observe space in the area.

The absolutely CATASTROPHIC wave-launch of munitions wiped out the rest of the CROS in the local area, winning the battle for the NWU and the UIGR. The vessels would send in groups of rescue aircraft to rescue any CROS personnel that survived being inside a red supergiant star - somehow, finding clumps of personnel in escape pods and inside bombed out fragments of hulls, those found inside the fragments clearly surviving either on raw determination or simply being TOO ANGRY TO DIE.

Beneath the Former Pacific Ocean, CROS Homeworld

What seemed like all of the CROS' senior government officials were being frantically lead down a hallway, elite guards ushering them into a large room. The majority of the officials were told to stay in the room while being briefed on the situation on the surface, but about 25% of the crowd was led into a separate sound-proofed room. There, someone else was delivering the briefing, but this one was different. More guards stood around the area, and security turrets - if they could be called that - were active and deployed in this room.

A speech was being given when the last official entered the room. "...enemies of the CROS - like the New World Union, the United Intergalactic Realm, and the Oligarchic Federation of Rodina, are not the only ones we must contend with. There are also enemies that are domestic, ones that are among us. (:skull:) All of you who have been gathered in this room are those enemies - enemies of the Party and of the CROS. As such, harsh action must be taken immediately. Desperate times call for desperate measures, they say. Truly, this is regrettable, but it is necessary for the survival of our great nation. Security, open fire."

Those with military training drew their Personal Defense Weapons before the person giving the speech could finish, a lucky thaumaturgic pellet spread from a shotgun killing the speaker, seemingly right before they were going to run to cover. Guards equipped with machine guns got into formation and opened fire on the officials, the vast majority being unarmed or being killed before they could bring their weapons to bear.
