person a reveals to person b that they are moving away for a long while for one reason or another, with no clue when they're returning. before they go, they propose to person b, promising to come back and marry them.
the most amazing thing (amy march & laurie):
person a and person b are reunited childhood best friends. while person a always had a crush on someone else in person b's life, when they reconnect as adults they find that they are actually in love with each other.
a small umbrella in the rain (jo march & professor bhaer):
while living in the same boarding house, person a and person b fall in love, though both are too stubborn to admit it. person a has to leave to attend to urgent family matters, and while they're on this leave, person b comes to terms with their feelings. they decide to travel to see person a again, confessing their love.
