when person a is born, their fairy godmother gave them what they thought would be a good gift. the "gift" of obedience. person a always must do what they are told. the only people to know about this curse is a fairy who works in the home, and their mother, who commands them to never tell anyone else on her deathbed, leaving person a unable to ever tell anyone their secret.
when person a is 18, their father remarries, bringing in a stepmother and two stepsiblings, who somehow discover person a's secret and use it to their advantage.
one day, when out on their own, person a is frozen in the middle of the road, when person b pushes them out of the way if a moving cart. person b, a royal in town, is now accidentally on top of person a.
