Part 14: Destroy Tyranny

Missiles flew across the sky and audibly screaming towards the BF/A aircraft, but were effectively countered by their teleportation capability, the missiles often running out of fuel after missing their targets. The fighters fired off gliding smart bombs developed from the ADGMB weapon family, striking the communications tower 10 times. Two missiles hit two of the BF/A-XX aircraft, which damaged them in some capacity, tearing off a wing on each of them.

The aircraft broke off from the rest and headed into orbit, repairing themselves with the use of nanodrones. These drones worked fast and, with nanometal's capability to regenerate along with its biological aspects, sped up regeneration well. Within the span of a few minutes, the aircraft were already fixed and ready. They dove down and broke through the clouds, peppering the tower with their 185mm guns. As a result, the tower was promptly shredded, and another guided bomb salvo from the rest of the aircraft toppled it.

Bulky skyscrapers with missiles and guns mounted on their sides were identified by New World Union intelligence as command centers, bombs now falling from the overhead jets and peppering them with explosives. Multicolored fires immediately broke out, and as ammunition depots detonated, chunks of structure were sent flying in a 10 mile radius around the point of detonation.

Occasionally, these pieces would hit buildings, and screams could very easily be heard as entire floors were shredded by debris. More command centers around the planet were bombarded, and the lower levels of the city-world were not safe either. The armored gates protecting vehicle passages down to lower subsections of the city were either blasted open by bombs or by guns, and entire squadrons of helicopters and aircraft would fly through.

The opening created by the BF/A fighters would be exploited by AHM-64s and M60 VTOLs, providing heavy fire support in those sectors and leaving the areas they destroyed burning, the smoke seeping through whatever holes were there to the surface. One of the BF/As scanned the planet, finding a total of 9 city-levels on it, likely replacing the crust.

Once this was discovered, the tunnels with the aforementioned gates leading down were 'widened' by complete obliteration, and space-capable frigates and drone carriers aided these attacks. The CROS defenses were heavy, but the literal drone swarms from the aforementioned carriers, which were in orbit, overwhelmed these defenses. 

More BF/A aircraft arrived from orbit and formed into other squadrons meant to assist the primary one, and more communications towers, armed to the teeth and with active defenses now, were being targeted by the BF/As. 185mm guns would slam into these towers with MPAR rounds to disrupt their defensive systems and specialized energy defense shields, then swapping to their standard laser munition to cut through.

Anti-aircraft batteries placed around the skyscrapers and often on their roofs ended up blindfiring into the air, their guidance now being interrupted by jammer/electronic warfare aircraft arriving from other ships in orbit. Their radar and targeting systems, trying their hardest to work, were targeted by anti-radiation missiles and promptly destroyed, leaving more smoke pouring into the sky.

Another area, suspected by scanners to be a large bunker complex of some sort, had hundreds of bunker-buster bombs rained on it from B-21 and B-47 bombers. It was located under a park, and under the intense bombardment, turned into a moonscape. Some jets also took the opportunity to mark targets for later. Anti-aircraft batteries were now mostly switching to manual aim, which was able to down multiple NWU aircraft, but were still vastly outmatched. 

The fighters now started returning to the upper areas of the planet's atmosphere, which was somewhat responded to by AA guns firing at them as they left. About 30 were hit due to their condensed formation, but were able to regenerate before much could happen that would affect them.
