"Why do you ask for my name?"

"Because I... don't know who you are?"

Aran smirked.

He thought she knew who he was, but she was pretending not to.

Until he saw her from the balcony.

In the bright sunlight, her expression and eyes looked like someone who really didn't know anything.

'Who are you?'

The encounter shocked him.

For days afterward, he was confused.

He looked at the woman and couldn't believe he felt the urge.

It was an all-too-human emotion.

If it symbolized human desire, sometimes instinctive, sometimes ugly, then he had long since lost his humanity.

It was a feeling he hadn't even remembered for a very long time.

"If you know my name, do you know who I am?"

"Not really... but a full name is the most basic courtesy."

"That's different from the manners I know. I don't ask a lady her name on first contact."

"..."

"Ah. Is it different for a lady to jump into someone's bed in the middle of the night?"

"...Not in the first place."

He wanted to see her face as she muttered a volley.

He wondered what her expression was now.

Aran sat up and snapped his fingers in the air.

At the same instant, the darkened bedroom became as bright as daylight.

Frea frowned, blinded, then whirled around in surprise.

"How did you do that?"

"How. Magic."

"Magic?"

"Do you mean to tell me you don't know magic?"

"Oh, no. I do, but... I've never seen magic like this before."

She marveled at the power of the magic.

No amount of candles could illuminate every corner like this.

It was as if a small sun had risen in the room and pushed back the darkness.

'Magic is an ancient power,' she thought.

After all, such a great power could not have suddenly appeared in the world.

It must have existed long ago, been forgotten for many years, and then reappeared in the New World.

It was strange to see that her roughly pieced-together imagination made sense.

While Frea's mind raced, Aran watched her curiously.

'Is she living in a remote mountain area? Is this her first time seeing magic like this?'

Magic tools for lighting up at night were common items used by commoners as well.

Of course, it wouldn't be as bright as this bedroom, but one would think it was a high-grade magic tool instead of being as surprised as she was.

'There could be a closed group somewhere, living in the middle of nowhere.'

Aran made eye contact with Frea, who looked away from him.
