The two seemed to be holding off the stairwell assault quite well, and 1-1 stayed close to the erasure drill. A decently loud trilling sound came from the left wall, attracting 1-1's attention. "1-2, go check out that sound." "Understood, 1-1." 1-2 said, approaching it with his rotary gun raised and ready to pull the trigger. The sound increased as he got near.

Before 1-2 could reach the wall, 2-1 and 2-2 noticed that less CROS officers seemed to be going down the stairs. "1-1, this is 2-1. Less of em goin' down the stairs, just so ya k-" 2-1 was interrupted by a violent explosion coming from the wall, which 1-2 was slightly hurt by. "Fuck-" He teleported back, starting to heal now.

He fully regenerated, and through the smoke, CROS 'shadow' and normal officers rushed out, some in heavy armor. This was also accompanied by a renewed assault coming from the stairs, which 2-1 started to contain with his modified TSCAR-L rifle. 1-1 immediately opened fire on the officers emerging from the wall opening, and 1-2 used his jetpack to fly over to the other side of the room, firing at the assault coming from the stairs.

The wall behind 1-2 also began aggressively making trilling noises, which 1-1 immediately used as an opportunity to whip out his particlethrower and then start blasting the wall with it. This prematurely caused the wall to blow up, likely due to activating the explosive placed behind the wall, but also killing plenty of CROS officers there at the same time.

1-1 marked for 1-2 to guard the stairwell, due to being the highest source of incoming enemies. He marked for 2-1 and 2-2 to defend the first wall that had been blown open, and 1-1 himself was going to guard the other tunnel. 1-1 checked his HUD to see the timer, seeing only 1 minute left on it. 

1-1 moved over to the wall he selected for himself to guard, holding down the trigger on his gun and mowing down CROS operators. Eventually, the tunnel was emptied due to the sheer volume of fire coming from his rotary gun system, and 1-1 was unable to detect any contacts. A few seconds later, a very loud mechanical wailing noise came from the tunnel, and he could hear loads and loads of cloaked enemies incoming.

Staying silent, he let the barrels on the gun spin and fire, the photonlasers coming from it ripping more and more CROS officers to shreds, and as the tunnels filled with hostiles, they were being emptied just as fast. 1-1 found a way to hold both of his weapons at the same time and comfortably opened fire on the incoming CROS with them.

He checked his HUD and saw that the vault was open, turning around and heading towards it. Once at the broken vault door, he stored the light erasure drill and marked his previous position for 2-1 to take over. He immediately noticed 2-1 was struggling to deal with the CROS operators due to their heavy armor and high number, so he opened comms. "1-1 FinRes requesting permission to use ISUGVs due to overwhelm?"

"Granted, 1-1. Go ahead." 1-1 smiled at being given that response, and he manifested 2 ISUGVs armed with M2 HMACs, pinging for them to assist 2-1 and 2-2. Now taking a good look at the inside of the vault, he saw that it was basically just four rows of heavily armored and heavily protected safety deposit boxes with protective thaumaturgic runic script symbols carved on each one of them.

1-1 pinged for the whole group to enter the vault with the ISUGVs guarding the exterior. They carried out the order, and then 1-1 marked a row for each of them to clear of boxes. 1-1 headed to the row he marked for his, whipping out an extractor pistol and using an integrated clamp system to shove the pistol against the box, then having the clamp attachment rip out the box with frequencies emitted from what would be the underbarrel rail softening the material.

All four of them went about this for a few minutes, with the ISUGVs doing a surprisingly good job against the CROS. One CROS operator armed with a rocket launcher fired it at the ISUGV on the right, but its jammers successfully sabotaged its guidance system and sent the rocket screaming rather comedically into the tunnel on the right.

The explosion from the stray rocket blocked off the tunnel by causing it to collapse, and the operator who fired it was subsequently shot in the head by the ISUGV that the guy tried to shoot. A few minutes later, all of the rows had been emptied of armored boxes, and the team exited via the way they came, blasting through CROS operators as they did.

A CTA-1M3 Clandestine Transport Vehicle "Space Van" was waiting for them in a nearby alleyway, which they ran towards. CROS law enforcement was unable to stop them, and they quickly piled into the back of the vehicle. The doors behind shut as the last ISUGV was lifted in, and the van flew through a portal.
